The debut album from Life on Planets ‘Curious Palace’ was released last June, and was soon after regarded by DJ Magazine as “perhaps the most interesting project to drop to date through New York music community Wolf + Lamb.” In the midst of a world tour, the duo found the time to release a follow up, arriving in the form of their second album called ‘Assemblage Points.’ The full length is now available on iTunes and other retailers.
Although often content in the background, the DJ/Producer behind Life on Planets (Patrick) has been touring as a DJ for the better part of two decades, releasing his productions on more than 50 different labels with a variety of monikers. In this exclusive mix for Discobelle, the artist steps out from the shadows to take you on an eclectic journey with a slow burning after-hours set.

Dubbed as ‘breakout artists’ at this year’s recent BPM Festival in Playa Del Carmen, Life on Planets return to Better on Foot with their fourth single for the label titled ‘Fata Morgana.’ Last year saw the rising Baltimore artists release ‘Apollo’ and ‘Showers’ to critical acclaim before being signed to Brooklyn based, Wolf + Lamb records. This week, Vice Magazine’s Thump blog referred to them as ‘one of the surprises of the year’ and declared them a ‘stand out’ live act (read the article HERE.)
Out Feb 9th, “Fata Morgana” is a powerful follow up, as we see Life on Planets begin 2015 with a haunting club anthem. On this latest release, the duo channel Giorgio Moroder and the late Aaron Carl in order to give this peak-time deep house excursion a welcomed space-techno edge. The hypnotic melody is backed by the vocals and songwriting which have made the Life on Planets live/DJ show one of a kind.
