Los Angeles based artist Maggie Horn drops her fantastic “What If” EP (with DC producer Nacey behind the decks), 5 tracks of bittersweet and superb dance-pop.

This is what Maggie said about the process when working on the EP:

“It’s my most important music personally as I wrangled with a lot of demons (depression, rape, isolation, self-acceptance). It feels and sounds mostly like a very celebratory, free EP to me though. Addressing these things gave them so much less power over me.”

The first solo effort from NYC based artist Maggie Horn comes in the form of the Telephoned (the outfit she formed together with Sammy Bananas) produced EP “Never/Know” , and this three track EP is the perfect companion to our October. Overall we get dark, electropop laced vibes that are bound together with hypnotic effects, catchy choruses and slow synthbased beats.

Telephoned is the brainchild of NYC vocalist/one of our favorite ladies Maggie Horn and moustache clad producer/dj Sammy Bananas, they’ve been kicking up a storm with their own versions of of the hottest tracks around mixed in with their personal favorites and busy touring during the last year. Their latest mixtape “Keep Their Heads Ringin” just dropped and it’s a non stop party. (Via The Fader)

Maggie Horn just released her EP with Curses! on Institubes the other day and now she and Scottie B joins forces and deliver a banging mixtape! Tonight they hold a release party for the mixtape and Maggie is performing live with her eclectic music family. Tell them that you’re coming, RSVP here!

I wish I could be there and not in cold Sweden.

Fools Gold are on a mighty roll right now with some banging releases. We’ve got two sweet tracks for you, first out is Sammy Bananas along with wonderful singstress Maggie Horn for a funked up cover of the T-Pain & Weezy track “Can’t Believe It”. Then A-Trak goes into party hip hop mode for his remix of “Bounce” from fellow Canadian duo MSTRKRFT. Gold indeed.
