Toffer – Nattbuss (Cocotaxi Remix)

Our friends in The Soul Lounge (best hip hop blog in Sweden) started their own label Soul Lounge Records and today we get the inaugural release “Nattbuss” which also happens to be the first official single from Swedish rapper Toffer. Toffer has via numerous mixtapes and collaborations built up a momentum here in Sweden and “Nattbuss” is produced by acclaimed duo Up2NoGood who have previously worked with Swedish artists Newkid and Simon Emanuel. The single also contains huge remixes from Marcus Price, Denniz Prime & Howard Who. It’s avaliable now on Spotify and iTunes so listen and buy!

In connection with the release we get a slew of bonus remixes from the likes of L-Wiz (grab it over at All Out Dubstep), Daniel Savio (can be found at PSL), DJ Large (available at Kingsize Magazine) and we here at Discobelle can present you with a bootyshaking remix from Stockholm global bass marauders Cocotaxi.

Burning Like The Sun

Swedish producer and beatmaker Oskar Skarp (formerly in hip hop outfit Fjärde Världen) teams up with Christian Walz and the Baseline massive for the release of his single “Burning Like the Sun”. The Daniel Savio (AKA Kool DJ Dust) remix that we’re offering here steps into quirky disco/house territory while the other remixes from Marcus Price, Carli, Axel Boman and Cristian Dinamarca slants toward the club. Listen to the whole single on Spotify and then purchase it over here.

702 – Steelo (LOL Boys & Sinjin Hawke Remix)

Montreal / LA duo LOL Boys and Sinjin Hawke sign up for an extremely necessary re-edit of 702′s r&b hit “Steelo” (which, as far as I can figure out, is talking about style).

They clear out plenty of space for the vocals, which waste no time stating “I’m gonna break it down”. Things continue building up from there until Missy Elliot is comparing herself to Michael Jackson behind some crackling high hat acid house drums and shuffling snare rolls. It feels like the audio embodiment of their Montreal based Boomclap party, which we’ve already raved about here before.

Speaking of LOL Boys, their new “LDR” EP is out now and is seriously fantastic stuff. Remixes by NGUZNGUZU, Jim-E Stack, Marcus Price and others, but the original productions are so strong that they almost make all the other takes on them unnecessary.

Marcus Price & Carli – Bubbelgum (video)

Big release from Sweden’s own kings of bass Marcus Price & Carli (of Savage Skulls fame), the “Bubbelgum EP” will drop on Palms Out March 1st and features remixes from French mad man and Club Cheval member Sam Tiba, Swedish electroduo Rebecca & Fiona, Carli himself + a Jexpert & L-Wiz “Mat Bira Kvinnor Weed” remix!

Familjen – Det Var Jag (Krazy Fiesta remix)

The biggest Swedish track for me this summer and fall has been “Det Var Jag” with Skåne electro hero Familjen and the remixes has been equally amazing, really showing the diversity of the Swedish club scene. We have already featured two versions here on Discobelle, Albin Myers and Gidge. On the vinyl release and on Spotify you also get a Savage Skulls and Marcus Price version (check it out, it’s a dancefloor killer) and this one from Krazy Fiesta. Johan tells us that its his favourite remix up to date. It’s beautiful, perfect for the day after. We are very happy to have the go ahead to share it with the world!

Don’t sleep!

Marcus Price – Awesome America

Marcus Price is a fine and upstanding bassloving gentleman who is now ready to conquer that great country known as the US with a North American tour planned for the end of October through December. In order to hold you over until you’re raving your mind out at the closest sweatdrenched club where Marcus is playing, here’s his brand new mixtape entitled “Awesome America”.

“Through dub n dirt, Marcus Price finds a direct connection between the club climates on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. From the cold house of Scandinavia though the UK filter bass, the mix makes a quick stop in the Parisian electro, jumping over to the American east coast club sound and finally smoothened out on the Detroit / Chicago Booty Juke scene.”

PS. Be prepared for a mindblowing EP on Discobelle Records to be released soonish…

China Food

The Maluca “China Food” mixtape (mixed by Paul Devro) that we mentioned the other day just dropped on Mad Decent. Enjoy!

“Continuing with our weekly mixtape giveaways we present you with Maluca – “China Food”, mixed by me. This is the brain child of Maluca for us to create a biographical trilogy (Past, Present and Future), if you will, of her musical influences and own music. First starting with where Maluca is coming from, early influences (Playero Music) and early songs (“Big Bad Bangs”), next, we move on to where she’s at, current influences (Mambo de Calle, Gaga Music), current songs (“Jungle Violento”, “Flourescent Beige”) and finally where she’s going influences (Dutch House, Vogue/Ballroom House), songs (“Loca”, “Hector”). With original production from amazing producers Oliver Twizt, Mumdance, Ruckazoid, Kevin Seaton, Marcus Price and one wack one, Me. I’m pretty positive what you’re about to hear, new song or old will be 99 percent new to your ears. So where Maluca goes from here I don’t know, but what i do know is that shes so talented, beautiful and crazy that I’ll be watching and listening closely the whole way.”
