Michigan trio Salem just released their new EP “Water” on Merok Records (their debut release in the UK) and we can offer you the track “When U Sleep”. It’s a hypnotizing, eerie drummachine laced number with haunting vocals that sucks you into the ghostly world of Salem only to spit you out, making you long for more. One of our favorite bands to emerge this year, Salem will definetely be doing it big in 2009…

Thursday, September 11th, 2008Patrik North of Summer Lovers Unlimited and Acephale Records fame just e-mailed us about the disturbing yet eerily beautiful “Dirt” video from Salem. It was filmed and directed by Salem themselves in their hometown of Traverse City, Michigan.
Look out for their new EP on Merok Records come October, in the meantime there’s still a few copies left of “Yes I Smoke Crack” EP at places like Turntable Lab, Rough Trade or Pure Groove. You should try and get it ASAP.
