Cubic Zirconia

Woke up to a nice treat in the good old inbox.

A minimix from NYC outfit Cubic Zirconia of their addictive new “Hoes Come Out At Night” EP which has had us bumping around the office all morning. The EP was released September 21st in digital format (via Don’t Cry) with a white label vinyl only release coming from Night Slugs on Monday September 27th that includes a stellar Ikonika remix and a collab track with Bok Bok.

Babylon week 2

Every Saturday from 0:30 to 2 AM (CET) , the Babylon radio show will be aired on the Italian national radio – RAI Radio 2 – and it will feature us in Discobelle discussing what we think is the best track to surface during the week so tune in in order to get in the know.

The playlist for tonights episode includes Crookers, Nic Sarno, A-Trak, Passion Pit and many more – it will also feature a 10 minutes minipartymix created exclusively for the show by Jaymo & Andy George from Moda Music/BBC 1. On the Soundcloud page of the show later during the day there will be an extended 18 minutes version of the Jaymo & Andy George minipartymix available for stream and free download. Italy’s finest Nic Sarno will close the show with his personal Top 5 chart and the host Carlo Pastore and resident dj His Majesty Andre will make you feel good for another 90 minutes straight.

We are going to be on Italian national radio “RAI Radio 2” every week recommending the biggest track of the week on their show Babylon. We will be back every week with a new track that made us go wild. The first show that features us goes live tonight at 00.30 CET. Lay Me Down

Mixpak Records continues with their streak of releasing hot as hell records, the latest one is called “Lay Me Down” and comes courtesy of the New Orleans bounce phenomenon known as Sissy Nobby. Here’s what Mixpak themselves had to say about the release:

“This anthemic, midtempo rap song is equally indebted to the sounds of No Limit Records and Rap A Lot Records, carrying on a Southern tradition of syrupy synth strings and a head nodding bass perfect for cruising in your Cadillac. We had Panton up on Discobelle back in November with his techhouse infused track “Favela”, since then he has signed to Southern Fried Records and will drop his debut EP in a minute. Here’s a 30 minute mix filled with some serious tunes that he recently did.

Riot Kid

Nothing like waking up on a monday morning only to find some fresh quality tunes in your inbox. Riot Kid is only 18 but already an experienced player in the French music scene, he is part of the new breed of young producers/djs in France who are all pushing the bass sound coming out of London and also mixing it up with various influences such as traditional African, Indian and Middle Eastern music. Today sees him drop his “Calcutta 1946″ EP on DubNoirMusic and we got a teaser of the EP + a minimix that’s bound to inspire some shopping. Trust us, you’ll be hearing lots more from Riot Kid in the future.

Renaissance Man – Minimix + soundtrack

The amazing Finnish duo Renaissance Man will be busy throughout the winter with tours in Australia and Southeast Asia + they’ve got some sweet remixes in the works. Here’s a minimix that they just did and also a sneak peek at French art DVD project “Polissons & Galipettes” (will be released in December), for which Renaissance Man produced 15 tracks for the soundtrack.
