Marcello Giordani – Non-Stop Dancing

We met Marcello down in Florence at the Luisa Via Roma “Firenze4ever” event, he runs the ever excellent Italo Deviance blog which focuses on disco in general and italodisco in particular. Here’s a mix that he just finished, entitled “Non-Stop Dancing which is exactly what it’s all about.

“65 minutes of pure Disco from the 70′s to these days – you won’t stop dancing!!!!!”

DJ Slow – Pelican Fly Party #1 Promo Mix

In two weeks time (friday January 26th to be exact) Brussels based DJ Slow will bring his Pelican Fly empire to Paris Social Club for the 1st edition of their residency, in order to prepare us for this extravaganza he put together a promo mix of serious vibes and bootyshaking greatness. The mix was done live at the Pelican Fly HQ AKA Duval house and it gives us a pretty good idea about what Pelican Fly is all about: mindboggling and forwardthinking club music.

More info about the party and a tracklist for the mix after the jump.

Thrills

Don’t deny it, January’s a tough month. Clubs are quieter, people hibernate at home with their partners instead of going out like a bunch of grizzly bears with Asperger syndrome, and everyone’s still too focused on their New Year’s Resolutions to really cut loose.

But if anything can jostle you out of your mid-winter coma, it’ll likely be this “Thrills” mix, stuffed to the brim with hedonistically schmaltzy forgotten dancefloor gems from the era when your parents went out dancing before they got knocked up with you.

Late night love disco, freestyle, late 80′s synth, and a vocal sample at the beginning requesting you “don’t be a queen, just be a dragon”, it’s exactly the kind of thing I want to listen to front to finish, again and again. Big thanks to Jared of the Molasuperpoco blog for putting this bit of magic up for free download. You can see Jared DJing at Razzmatazz in Barcelona.

LOL Boys for Frite Nite Podcast

Continually reminding me of the reasons that I love mixes (effortlessly harmonious mixing, unfamiliar tracks from familiar artists, as well as a few staggeringly heavy collaborations such as “Hot City X LOL Boys – Hot Boys” for example), LOL Boys start the year off on the right foot with their contribution to the Frite Nite podcast.

Their first release of 2012, their long anticipated and oft’ bootlegged/ripped remix of T2 and Jodie’s “Heartbroken,” drops on Uno, Feb 14th.
