A while back we posted the pretty amazing Windsurf remix of The Tough Alliance track “Neo Violence” (the remix single is released on Modular Records). Today, we’re able to bring you remix done by Shazam who is an up and coming producer hailing from Perth, Australia. He hands us a filtered French house remix that takes The Tough Alliance to the club.

Yeah, we know this made the rounds last week but we’ve been holding for clearance from Modular. One of our favorite Canadian producers (we have a ton of them), disco maestro CFCF, remixes the latest single “Talk Like That” (off their latest album “Apocalypso”, digital only release and it’s out now) from Aussie duo The Presets.

The Tough Alliance – Windsurf dub remix

The Tough Alliance are ready to take over the world with the aid of premier Aussie label Modular Records who will release the latest CD “A New Chance” internationally on September 25th.

The forthcoming single “Neo Violence” comes packed with a few sweet remixes; Zongamin, Woolfy and Laidback Luke have all joined in but we’re feeling this shuffling and stripped down balearic dub from Windsurf who turns the original hooligandisco track into sounding like something we’d play while sipping drinks somewhere where it’s too hot to move around.

Singstress Ladyhawke is the alter ego of New Zealander Pip Brown who has now moved to London (via Sydney) where she continues to provide us with tracks that are burning up the blogs. Her debut album will be released by Modular Records on September 22nd and this is the latest single (release date September 15th) entitled “Dusk Till Dawn” remixed by Canyon (other remixes comes courtesy of Linus Loves and hip French outfit The Shoes).

Bang Gang Deejays – Teaser mix

The craziest but also the best dj crew from Australia, Bang Gang Deejays, are gearing up to release a new CD on Modular this fall. To promote the CD they’re giving out this teaser that comes in the form of a minimegamix, 45 songs in 10 minutes covering a wide array of genres but all banging.

“The Bang Gang Deejays are renown for laying down club rub after club rub to the point where everyone simultaneously experiences a dance climax and the rafters rattle with the heaving bodily mass of a thousand people losing their minds. The Bang Gang Deejays are: Ajax, Gus Da Hoodrat, Jamie Doom, DJ Damage, Nolan Nolan and Dangerous Dan, whether you’ve heard of them as a collective or individually you’ll know they can throw one helluva party.

Last year we gave you “Light Sound Dance”, otherwise known as “LSD “, the double disc compilation to out-dance all other compilations. This year we’ve got a new fruity frappe of jams selected and mixed together by The Bang Gang themselves, it goes by the name of “D is for Disco, E is for Dancing”. It’ll drop worldwide in late October/early November.”

Ladyhawke – Paris Is Burning (video)

Monday, June 30th, 2008

“Paris Is Burning was written while the wounds from a delirious weekend of assaults on the senses on the River Seine were still fresh, Paris Is Burning is an outrageously fun, footloose summer jam that mixes tumbling drum fills, cheeky, melodic piano and vocal interplay, and an uplifting, whimsical chorus to euphoric effect. The clip is directed by great Dane Casper Balslev (director of Presets – The Boy’s In Love), the Paris Is Burning video is a visually arresting, sublimely energetic romp around the streets featuring Pip and a white wolf”.

Go here for the Alex Gopher remix that we posted about a month ago and don’t forget to check out the single and debut album when they drop on Modular Records on August 23rd and September 13th.

Cut Copy – Far Away

As you may already know, we here at Discobelle are big fans of the new breed of bands coming out of Australia. Dancey electropop outfit Cut Copy is one of them and they’re dropping one of the most anticipated albums of 2008 with their sophomore CD “In Ghost Colours” (produced with Tim Goldsworthy of DFA fame, it will be released by Modular in Europe in late April/May but you Aussies can get it on Good Friday). We got our hands on (thanks again to the ever so lovely Naomi at Darling Department) one of the tracks from the album, “Far Away” is a lovely upbeat track that reminds us of the new wave bands of the 80’s but with a modern sound.
