Mosca- 5000 Followers EP

Surprisingly generous Monday morning vibes from Mosca today in the form of the aptly titled “5000 Followers” EP that he unleashed on the internet today after reaching 100,000 followers. No, just kidding, the EP is called five thousand followers because he has five thousand followers, it just makes sense like that.

Hot on the heels of the impossible to keep in stock Bax / Done Me Wrong vinyl that’s out now on Numbers,, this is a bit of a more downtempo affair (note the absence of any catch phrases yelling “My DJ is live in the place”), Moscas describes this EP as “100bpm and 105bpm slow house hiphop kinda stuff” with a bit of deep house baked in there.

Can’t wait for this to drop, serious vibes courtesy of Spooky and Mosca.

“Mosca gets his dubby hands on one of last year’s biggest grime tunes, Spooky’s ‘Spartan’. Some serious cross-genre niceness, with Mosca really dipping confidently into the dub tradition – A LOT of reverb, plenty of samples and a sufficiently deep bassline, reminding us that the two genres definitely do have a whole bunch in common.” (Via Mixpak)

Bok Bok grime mix

Fellow Grinder and London based bass demon Bok Bok is one half of Night Slugs (together with L-Vis 1990, watch out for the first release from Mosca on their newly started label with the same name). He gives us a mix done for the fellas over at Let’s Mix (the mix section of Pacemaker) with a fine selection of some of the best grime this side of the millenium.
