TRAK020 cover

aUtOdiDakT & John Disco feat. Spoek Mathambo – Fake Fred Perry

HA! First of all, the name of this song already predisposes me towards liking it.

But on top of that, Spoek loosens up a tad from the cult leader death threat vibes of his previous Discobelle Records release and raps fluently about hot dogs with mustards and ketchup, house parties and genetalia. He also just got signed to Sub Pop by the way! ‘Bout time all that hustling payed off.

The last time I remember hearing from aUtOdiDakT was when Proxy turned “Shit Yr Rack” into a gutting, stretched out grinding vortex of brown note inducing sound. Here, aUtOdiDakT employs some skeletal bass that’s likely to re-align your spine if you’ve got back problems and mess it up if you don’t. It’s heavy, but doesn’t overpower the rest of the song – metaphorically, it’s the gasoline and purple sizzurp that’s fueling Spoek’s rants.

Definitely one that will get some positive vibes if rinsed at a big messy party of any type.

Bonus: You know Sharkslayer got their mitts on this too.

Heartbreak Presents : Moombahsoul Volume 1

Summer solstice was yesterday and since it’s now officially summer we’ll be bumping this moombahsoul compilation (includes tracks from Sonora, Munchi, Jon Kwest etc.) done by Heartbreak until at least september.

“In 15 tracks, ten talented men intend to inspire romantic passion. This is the literal soundtrack for the creation of the next generation of dance aficionados. This is sexual music, this is passionate music meant to inspire love. This is the music that makes the dance floor steam, this is the music that turns on the red lights, this is the music for the slow grind, the dark corner make out. This is the soundtrack for iconic moments that get stuck in your head as you remember why you love to dance, and why you love music. Love is a universal connective emotion, and is celebrated here in full.”

Munchi – Shottas Feat Mr. Lexx (Crookers Remix)

Crookers pull out some of their freshest sounding production to date in this remix of some already prime original track by moombathan juggling talent Munchi. Mr. Lexx, famous for his role beside Santigold on Major Lazer’s “Hold The Line” flows effortlessly with a deadpan delivery.

Also:

“Munchi had a seizure caused by an intracerebral hemorrhage, with no prior condition. He spent 9 hours in a coma and 11 days in the hospital recovering. He has no medical insurance in the US. His medication is expensive and he needs to get back to Rotterdam. Our goal is to pay for his ticket home, get our Hawaiian friends reimbursed for his meds and eventually pay for his hospital bills.”

Bassanovva – Chicken Lover

Bassanovva is the new project from Toronto producer/dj Nautiluss AKA Grahmzilla (of Thunderheist) and NYC producer/dj Jubilee and they’re about to unleash a club demolishing EP on Sindens Grizzly label. The “Chicken Lover” EP will be released on November 29th and features this remix of the title track (an ode to our squawking feathered friends that contains the lines: “I love chicken, Who likes chicken? and “Where’s the chicken?”) by Dutch newcomer Munchi who twists and turns it into a moombahton monster.

Bassanovva

Bassanovva is a side project from our Canadian buddy Grahmzilla AKA Nautiluss that he started up together with NYC dj Jubilee. Their tracks are based on a couple of key ingredients such as animal (or dinosaur) sounds, lots of sub bass, and not to mention the fact that they can seriously be considered dancefloor smashers. New dance music connoisseur Sinden and his Grizzly imprint picked up on the duo, meaning that we can look forward to an EP to be released on November 1st which will feature big name remixers such as Nacho Lovers, Green Money, Hackman, Munchi and Samo Sound Boy. Here’s a sampler of the three original songs from the upcoming EP which are guaranteed to entice your ear drums.

Track 1 – Terrordactyl
Track 2 – Chicken Lover ft Toni Tony Lee
Track 3 – Ovva ft. Alanna Stewart
