Vol2Brodinski

Discobelle.net & Neoteric present: THE MYSTERY MIX, VOL. 2 Mixed by Brodinski

After the immense success of Vol 1, we have returned to unleash a new mix full of tomorrow’s biggest tracks! At the helm this time, fittingly, is France’s Brodinski, a renowned tastemaker, who is known for his forward thinking productions, amazing DJ sets, and futuristic playlists featuring the newest and best from the worlds of techno, house, and all forms of dance music.

What happens when you unleash a MONSTER of a mixtape, filled with unreleased tracks from many of the biggest names and labels in the game, and a few unknown future stars? Generally everyone hits Google in a frenzied attempt to track down the whole playlist. But, what if one had to do more work to find out just what these tracks were – and in the process, learn more about the artists themselves, their releases, and the labels behind them. The Mystery Mix is internet scavenger hunt for music fiends!

The Mystery Mix goes live March 12th, 2010 on Discobelle.net and continues until the puzzle is solved. Over time, we will be strategically revealing clues to help listeners figure out the tracklisting. For example, we may twitter a youtube clip of one of the songs being played live, or drop a hint within a blog post on Discobelle. You may find a mention about a song in question on the website of one of the labels involved, or have to go digging around Myspace or Facebook to find the answer you’re looking for!

As fun as this is for any die hard music fan, we’ve got to reward you for all your hard work! Up for grabs is the award winning and highly acclaimed Pacemaker – The Ultimate Music Machine. With an retail value of over US $600 this little machine is no small prize! Instead of simply listening to your music, you can now completely interact with it. The possibilities are only limited by your own imagination!

To get you started, here are a few sites you should monitor over the coming weeks for clues. Look carefully, they may be sneaky!

Moombahton

Our Vancouver homie Neoteric just tipped us off about this new thing that Dave Nada started making, it’s called moombahton and it’s dutch house slowed down.

“Dave Nada invented Moombahton (pronounced Moom-buh-tone) at his little cousin’s house party when he slowed an Afrojack remix down to 108 beats per minute. Since then, he’s been making reggaeton-tempo edits of Dutch house and tropical house, and clubs have been going crazy for the stuff”

White Light 18 - Neoteric

White Light 18 – Neoteric

New mix from our man over in Vancouver, Neoteric strikes again with his third installment of the White Light Mix Series which he runs together with Matty C.

“It’s been amazing to see this series blossom into what it has become! My last White Light mix (Vol 5) was one of my favourite mixes that I’ve ever done, but I wanted to go deeper on this one to really catch the ‘Night Driving / Zone Out’ vibe. This one is much less vocal, way more mind trip, and features some very strong productions from acts who are really pushing this sound. This is pretty heady, moody stuff, and the vocals that were picked resonate strongly with emotion. I hope this mix strikes a nerve and is the cosmic soundtrack along your ways. Look towards the light!”

Vancouverian dj Matty C brings his two latest edits for us to sample. First out we have “Lovin U Baby” which is an update on that Kiss classic, done up in a big room style that will be like candy for your mainstream and electro sets, next up to the bat is a blend Matty did with Flo Rida over Alan Braxe and it’s called “Addicted Right Round”
