If you’ve been clubbing in Stockholm during the past couple of years, you’re bound to have encountered dj/producer Jeansbjörn who happens to be one of the most wicked selectors that are on offer here in Sweden. Now, he’s teamed up with Rave-Dave for a mixtape of all heat that’s definitely gonna be bumped for the rest of the summer.

“From Titiyo to Bella Boo, via Morabeza Tobacco, Blunted Dummies and a New Order classic with a twist of Kedr Livanskiy – this is a mix of some older and some newer favorites we’ve been bumping this spring. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do :))”

It’s been another pretty great year for us here at Discobelle and we’re rounding it all off with the last exclusive mix of 2015 which comes courtesy of NYC/L.A dj/producer Whitney Fierce who honed her trade as a tour dj for New Order and who has also been working as a vocalist for among others Hercules And Love Affair and Subb-An. She plays frequently across the US and Europe. This mix should be solid one for your New Years party, put it on -> be dazzled -> get your freak on.

Happy new year, see you in 2016!

Recently I’ve been getting lost in the world of previously undiscovered 12″ extended mixes for tracks that I didn’t know had club friendly alternative versions.

While New Order’s classic “Bizarre Love Triangle” is already perfectly tailored for dance parties worldwide, there’s something especially satisfying about Shep Pettibone’s dub version, which edits out all the vocals and lets the lightning drums and absolutely un-improvable snyth line speak for itself. Something spiritual about it all, y’know?

20 year old NYC producer and Wolf + Lamb signing Nicolas Jaar just released an EP of smooth and sexy house edits of pop tracks. The “6 Edits EP” was released in conjunction with Resident Advisor and on it Mr Jaar takes on among others Nina Simone, Grateful Dead and New Order etc. and you better believe that this is seriously great stuff.

Wednesday and you know what’s going on, another mashup courtesy of Teddybears. Now go grab the new “Devil’s Music” album.

“Another killer-floorfiller-shureshot-mash-up from the Teddybears and their “Devil’s Music”-album that’s being put in the streets today! Eve. Rocket Science. Blue Monday. You know you’ve been longing to hear her back on the mic again, but you didn’t know it would be like this though. She’s ruff-riding the New Order classic into the sunset like there’s no tomorrow. Woohaa cowgirl!”

American/Swedish trio Thieves Like Us met in Berlin, discovered a mutual interest in Hot Chip meets New Order type electropop, released the single “Drugs In My Body” on Kitsuné and then toured all over the world. Tonight, they’ll be at Babel here in Malmö for the second edition of the Tricks/Tricks/Tricks club night. This remix of the Miss Kittin track “Party In My Head” will give you an idea of what to expect.
