(thee) Mike B is based out of Los Angeles and he is one of those dj’s dj whereas pretty much an all star cast of dj’s/producers gives him well deserved praise, he also happens to be one of Discobelle’s oldest friends.

Now, he has teamed up with Eevo to breathe new life into the classic The Avalanches track “Frontier Psychiatrist” which we can premiere on Discobelle, their chopped up take features a frantic, housed up beat and lingering horn samples throughout this absolute banger which has already been praised by the likes of Nick Catchdubs, Curses, Astronomar, Tony Quattro, Classixx, Ardalan, Oliver Dollar and Switch etc.

Our old comrade Nick Catchdubs (yeah, one of the founders of NYC label Fool’s Gold Records and all around amazing fella) recently released his single “UFO Style”, and it’s an immediately hypnotizing array of cut-up beats, chopped vocals and buzzing synths.

“I love old records but have no interest in making retro songs. I’m energized by the spirit of New York you hear in Malcolm McLaren’s “Duck Rock” and Jive Ryhythm Trax, comic books and rave flyers, late night radio tapes and shitty drum machines… to Xerox that feeling would be boring. But putting my own spin on those inspirations is crazy exciting! ‘UFO Style’ is me wondering what it would sound like if The Orb made music for subway dancers. Please play it on a good system.”

Originally from Australia but now residing in Los Angeles, Craig Williams is an up and coming producer that had a fantastic 2013 with a release together with Louisahhh!!! of Bromance along with a series of choice tracks/remixes and he’s someone that you should be paying close attention to.

His “Saw Throat” EP was just released by Aussie label Club Sweat (sublabel of Sweat It Out) and it brandishes two tracks of vibesfilled, deep and dark techno – the EP has already seen support from big players such as Claude VonStroke, Crookers, Yolanda Be Cool, Sinden, Astronomar, Beataucue, Nick Catchdubs, RUFUS and more.

He’s also releasing an EP together with Charles I with us here at Discobelle Records in the beginning of April, be sure to check that out and be prepared to be blown away.

franskild is a dj/production duo that consists of two Swedes currently living in Copenhagen that are also part of Middle Eastern Heavy Bass trio Compadre. The influences for franskild ranges from “the blissful sounds and magnificence of the early eighties house music, 90’s french touch, mid-00’s jackin house and contemporary UK-garage”.

Last friday the duo released their debut EP “Majestic Mountains” on Australian label Sweat It Out and the EP has already garnered attention from among others Etienne De Crécy, Ben Mono, Nick Catchdubs, Horse Meat Disco, AutoKratz, Aston Shuffle and Peking Duk.

Below you’ll find all the tracks off the EP along with a promo mix (that includes the track “SF94” from Discobelle Records family Wool) done to showcase the dreamlike, melancholy and epic house sound of this up and coming duo.

Breakin’ Bad

Sep 20 2010

Monday, old new government here in Sweden and apparently we have an extreme right wing party in parliament. Looks like we’re in for a ride these next four years. We need something to cheer us up and luckily we got a little gift in the mail.

Meanbucket, the label from the often overlooked city of Prague are set to drop their second release “Breakin’ Bad” from elusive Tokyo based producer Ethix, it’s out today and has already been grabbing attention around the globe from producers such as Bok Bok, Jason Forrest, Malente and Mumdance etc. If you throw in a couple of stomping remixes such as a 90’s house affair from New Yorks finest Nick Catchdubs & Proper Villains + Prague’s very own dubstep heroes Side9000 and you get an essential release.

One of our favorite dj’s/producers, New York disco producer Eli Escobar, just released his first original release “Glass House” and it’s been creating quite a stir over the past month with support from a variety of dj’s such as Sinden, Nick Catchdubs, Malente and many many more. Eli Escobar is of course already well known for his many amazing remixes which Plant Music will be compiling into a remix album for release later this year. This tasty remix comes courtesy of XXXChange who should be no stranger for the frequent Discobelle reader.
