Valhalla-cover

Valhalla

Scottish producer Hostage just dropped one thunderous EP with “Valhalla” (released by Nightshifters that goes from strength to strength with their releases). Hostage keeps the single going with bass and adds some sprinkles of rave to keep the dancefloor in check, remix duties comes from Chicago house legend Angel Alanis, Chicago b-more hero Rampage then Chrissy Murderbot adds some juke flavour and Mommas Boy finishes the package off with some Dutch house/Euro rave goodness.

ZNMA

DJ Donna Summer (boss man of the powerhouse known as the Nightshifters label) was asked to do a new DJ mix for Russian vodka company ZNMA. It’s actually pronounced “Zima” but that’s the Russian word for winter. The mix is available in a Deluxe Digi-pack format in Russia but they want it to be spread all around so here’s the mp3. The mix consists of 100% Nightshifters tracks with a lot of exclusive new tracks a well as a few older favorites.

Vampire Killah

Nightshifters have given us plenty of amazing releases as of late, here’s their latest one and it’s completely free. The “Vampire Killah” EP from fantastic Tokyo based DJ P.O.L. Style should work wonders for your upcoming Halloween gig with its sinister housey b-more stylings and dark organ stabs. A slew of remixes comes courtesy of Australian producer Trumpdisco, Grindins own LOL Boys as well as Nightshifter mate Rob Threezy and label top dog DJ Donna Summer!

PAYPUR-cover

Udachi & Jubilee – Paypur + Smoke Rings (video)

Nightshifters continues with their heavy bass induced world takeover, their next release comes from two of NYCs finest dj’s/producers, namely Udachi and Jubilee who gives us the “Paypur EP”.

“We’re proud to present our next EP, this time a collaborative effort between two of New York’s Hottest DJ/producers Udachi and Jubilee! A beast of a release, Paypur features two incredible original tracks by the duo and five stunning remixes. AC Slater states “This could easily be the biggest release of 2009. I’ve been playing this in every one of my DJ sets for the past 6 months.” Garnering support from the likes of Tommie Sunshine, Fake Blood, DJ Craze, and Klever, and BBC Radio 1 Airplay on Kissy Sellouts show, it has breakthrough potential! “Paypur” begins on a mellow old school tip with an 808 bounce that builds into an oscillating frenzy of a drop. The track follows an imaginary clubber on his first night out, he thinks he has the swag, but the push and pull of the track shows the subtle comedy of someone succumbing to too much “fun”, then regresses from the perfect bliss of mixed substances before hurling it up with a psychedelic whine of chest thumping bass.

“Smoke Rings” includes Jubilee on vocals crooning over a dub-reggae breakdown about aliens stealing her weed. The best slices in like a rip in the space-time continuum sending Jess on a chase to get the weed back. If you want to know how the story ends, the crooner gets her weed back and parties with the aliens back on Planet Rad! A happy ending indeed…

While the two original tracks are simply amazing, the remixes are equally incredible. Nick Catchdubs enlists hot-as-fuck lyricist Kid Daytona to re-construct Paypur into a screwed dirty south styled jam filled with swagger and ready for radio airplay. Venezuela’s Cardopusher pushes the bass to the maxx with his mosh-pit-dubstep remix of the same tune, while Thunderheist’s Grahmzilla flips the vibe into an expansive techno affair ready for your next sunrise session. Breakbeat hardcore legend Luna-C turns “Smoke Rings” into a dub-bass rave anthem of the next level akin to ‘SL2 on a ragga tip’. And while a rave vibe can also be felt in Dre Skull’s incredible remix, he pushes up the Funky snares and adds a sinister breakdown that’s sure to get shirts flung off the dance floor.”

Rampage-cover

Rampage

We’ve been mad sleeping on this (Sorry Jason and Jess) but finally i managed to sit down for a post about this new Rampage release on the consistently awesome Nightshifters label.

Rampage is part of the Ghetto Division crew in Chicago along with Rob Threezy, Charlie Glitch and MaddJazz and his new EP “War” is the latest release on NYC/Berlin based Nightshifters. The track that we got for you today – “Loving You Is Easy” – is on that blasting housed up b-more style that Rampage has become noted for.

BONUS: The Sicilian duo Blatta & Inesha turns the title track “War” into a kuduro infected monster of a track.

Rob Threezy – The Change Up

The seventh release on the all out awesome Berlin/NYC based label Nightshifters and it’s Chi-town B-more/house/bass producer Rob Threezy who brings us a jaw dropping EP entitled “The Change Up” (comes with remix work from Jokers Of The Scene, DJ Sega and Mikix The Cat). The title track gives us ravey synths that makes way for a wonky bass but by then we’ve already given in to this monster.

Pirates & Rudeboys

Edinburgh producer and Nightshifters affiliate Hostage goes from strength to strength with an absolutely massive output of tracks, remixes and edits. These latest two offerings, “Pirates” and “Rudeboys”, were unleashed on the unsuspecting net via the awesome people over at Discodust (where you’ll also find his aUtOdiDakT remix) yesterday. “Pirates” is full on bassline madness whereas “Rudeboys” is more in the lines of Jamaican dubstep and it’s our favorite of the two.
