“Oneman will go b2b with Jackmaster at the Red Bull Music Academy x Major Lazer x Notting Hill Carnival party tonight. To heat things up proper, here’s an exclusive Carnival selection from Mr Bishop himself: 52 minutes’ worth of UK Garage classics, mixed by one of the most brilliant DJs on the UK scene. If you like what you hear, look out for some live streaming action from the event on Boiler Room and catch all the highlights on RBMA Radio afterwards. R U Ready?”
“Peace to Nikita
First time we ever met Bok Bok was at Ballers Social, the night Joey used to run on our behalf in Glasgow. I remember sittin backstage in Stereo (Sushon’s second show with Joe in Glasgow) with a blinking bar light, sat on cheap plastic seating with Jack Revill aka Jackmaster talking about how metronome-tight Oneman was – How he was ‘techno tight’. I mean, a DJ’s-DJ is kind of a rare thing in 2011 when even the guy who cleans your windows probably fucks with Serato. But Oneman is just that and here he explains why with an excellent tracklisting that’s so on-point with references we love that we feel almost embarrassed like he dropped the Quiet Storm instrumental in just for us. Big up the head of 502.”
Our friends down in Barcelona, the Plat Du Jour crew, tipped us off about this.
Guido is a young producer from Bristol who just released a new single called “Beautiful Complication/Araya” featuring lovely vocals from Aarya on Punch Drunk Records. The single has already received play from Joker, Oneman, Pinch, Kode 9, Mary Anne Hobbs, Toddla T, Sinden, Rob Da Bank, Appleblim and many more that are intrigued by Guidos suspenseful and atmospheric brand of dubstep that fits superbly with this darker time of the year. Peep the videos for the single below and then hit up your favorite retailer for a physical copy.
