Canadian collaborative duo Pineo & Loeb today share a new original track “MTV (Money For Nothing),” a high energy track bursting at the seams with explosive synth energy. Influenced by decades of electro, alt-rock, and all the classics, Pineo & Loeb fill their music with a nostalgic, but contemporary look at the future. “MTV (Money For Nothing)” is a dance track built off of the classic MTV tune “Money For Nothing” by Dire Straits and here, Pineo & Loeb inserts samples from a variety of artists including Ludacris, 50 Cent, and Kanye West to give the song a strong hip hop feel.

PINEO & LOEB are two up-and-coming producers hailing from Halifax, Nova Scotia. The combination of their names reminds me of Phineas and Ferb but that’s beside the point. Today they bring us a remix of Wolf Saga and LYON’s cover of The Strokes’ “Y.O.L.O” that sounds closer to an original single than a remix and we’re impressed. Together, PINEO & LOEB recorded live guitar and samples over Wolf Saga and LYON’s cover to create an R&B influenced track that sounds like it’s from the future.
