House Of House

Friday, May 29th, 2009

House Of House gave us what could be the track of the year with “Rushing To Paradise (Walkin’ These Streets)” and now they provide us with a pretty fantastic promo mix for their gig at classic London club Fabric.

“In prep for their performance this Saturday at Fabric here’s a mix that NYC’s House of House that they’ve especially for the night. House Of House is the New York City-based dance music duo of Saheer Umar (Afrika Islam’s nephew) and Olivier “Liv” Spencer (also of Still Going on DFA Records).

Influenced by the classic sounds of New York and New Jersey Deep House, seminal Techno outfits like Basic Channel and Underground Resistance, and the soulful sounds of Imagination, Womack and Womack and Sade, House Of House injects a soul-searing bit of drama onto the dance floor.”

Our Italian buddy Rocco AKA Congorock just sent us an e-mail with his latest mix, it’s a promo mix done for his release with fellow Italian duo Blatta & Inesha which comes out today on Hell Yeah Records.

The mix is full of fresh and unreleased stuff which you’re bound to enjoy!

BONUS: Two hot remixes of the “Step Off” track from the EP. First one comes from our Polish friend Sekta (of the Sorry, Ghettoblaster crew) and the second one is from another up and coming Italian producer named Lazy Ants.

We Have Band – Oh! (video + remix)

Friday, November 7th, 2008

London trio We Have Band is the latest signing to French label Kitsuné, they’ve already been featured on the Kitsuné Maison 6 compilation CD. Their sound has been described as “spastic bass heavy discorock” and if Devo was formed on today’s music climate then they would probably sound something like this. This remix from Paris outfit Gentlemen Drivers of their debut single “Oh!” (released on November 24th on 50 Bones Records) decreases the level of spasticness but instead gives it more of a quirky and bleepy disco sound with repetetive talky vocals.
