Earl Sweatshirt – Home

Odd Future’s very own prodigal son Thebe Kgositsile better known as Earl Sweatshirt returns from boarding school in Samoa, after first making a website and creating a Twitter account he drops this “Home” track which besides a sick flow features production from Red Bull Music Academy alumni James Pants.

Canblaster & Nightwave – Power Up

A new tune from mad French hatter Canblaster who together with Nightwave did this for the Red Bull Music Academy Various Assets project where from now until February 24th, every Monday thru Friday, one track recorded at the Red Bull Music Academy 2011 in Madrid will be made available for download. 16 in total. The full 35-track “Various Assets – Not For Sale” 2011 compilation is set to drop on physical format February 24th.

“Working from the chords up, Nightwave and Canblaster rein in the Korg M3 like a pair of seasoned synth-whisperers. Far from a cruise on the motorway, this obstacle course through foot-steppers territory alternates with half-time break-downs, slippery hi-hat patterns, and ecstatic vocal chops. Global recession or not, there’s always work for feet.”

Dixon – On The Floor

We’re huge fans of Berlin producer/dj Dixon here at Discobelle and when we stumbled upon this two-part live recording for Red Bull Music Academy Radio of his stellar set at Versatile’s 15 Ans celebrations in Paris we were of course delighted. If you dig deep house then this is for you.

Soul_Clap_2011_Press_1

Red Bull Music Academy Radio: On The Floor! – Soul Clap, live at People In The City, Lausanne Soul Clap

It’s been a week of some of the newest sounds on the planet from the likes of Brenmar, Canblaster, Lunice, DJ Asma etc. all courtesy of Red Bull Music Academy but we’re finishing the whole thing off with Boston’s finest Soul Clap and a live set recorded during their recent European stint and the show at People In The City, Lausanne Switzerland. With the aid of soulful house, tasteful re-edits and party attitude they sure know how to make you shake your booty.

Boiler Room x RBMA 2011 – Brenmar + Live at RBMA’s Holydubs party at Siroco in Madrid.

Brooklyn based but Chicago born producer/dj Brenmar went to Madrid for the Boiler Room x RBMA event and he gives us a fast paced set of neondrenched r ‘n’ b and hip hop marrying juke, footwork and global bass. Then we proceed with a live set from the Siroco club in Madrid where Brenmar goes in hard.

Let the weekend begin.

Boiler Room x RBMA 2011: Canblaster b2b DJ Asma

The mad horse of the Club Cheval crew, futuristic beatmaker and computer game guru Canblaster together with DJ Asma (1/2 of L.A outfit Nguzunguzu) decided to destroy the Boiler Room takeover at RBMA 2011 in Madrid with the help of a b2b set containing French electro, UK bass, footwork, hard tribalistic beats, hip hop, R&B and general weird sounds.

lunice

Red Bull Music Academy Radio – Live at EDF Energy London Eye: Lunice

Montreal producer Lunice took over one of the capsules at the London Eye for the big RBMA World Tour extravaganza and he completely obliterated it with his mixture of beats, bass and splintered electronica.

Numbers

Red Bull Music Academy Radio – Jackmaster b2b Deadboy

A thoroughbred entertainer and impeccable selector, Jackmaster’s sets range from bass to boogie, raw Chicago house to 80s wedding classics. No wonder he was just named “Best Breakthrough DJ” by DJ Mag. Here Jackmaster is teaming up with his Numbers labelmate Deadboy who has been stirring things up with his bass drenched invasion of the borderlands between house and UK garage. This was recorded last month at the conclusion of the RBMA World Tour when they took over the biggest ferris wheel in Europe, the London Eye.

Red Bull Music Academy Radio – Fabric Live pres: Hessle Audio ft. Ben UFO, Pearson Sound & Pangaea

Last month the RBMA World Tour culminated its circumnavigation of the globe with a takeover of the biggest ferris wheel in Europe, the London Eye. Each of the 30 capsules featured influential producers, DJs and bands that presented the latest in the upfront London sounds that are currently making waves around the globe. This set comes from the Hessle Audio label crew featuring Ben UFO, Pangaea and Pearson Sound. Ben UFO has gone from queuing up at London’s FWD to becoming a figurehead of the scene in just a few years, together with Pangaea and Pearson Sound (formerly known as Ramadanman) he runs Hessle Audio. The label has done much to avoid the forensic genrefication of dubstep, working the ever thinning borderlines with dubbed out techno and deep house.

Lunice – Live At The Notting Hill Carnival

Weekend treat for you, Montreal producer/dj Lunice dropping next level bombs of futuristic beats at the Notting Hill Carnival. Watch the whole 1 hour live video over at The Boiler Room website.

“Lunice whipping up a whole heap of carnival hype, we swear the guy just exudes excitement and has the riddims to back it all up…”
