Wareika – Burnin’ (Renaissance Man Remix)

Renaissance Man go graveyard-deep on this forthcoming Wareika remix on the always outstanding Tartelet label.

As opposed to Wareika’s summery trumpet-filled “Mountain Ride” single, this one starts off with some blazingly catchy percussiony clicks and clacks as an eerie goblinesque vocal sample mentioning bodies in coffins, cables and computers, repeating that “you are not in there” sinisterly while the beat throbs on behind it, pulsating and growing until it’s the only thing filling your ears.

The release date is still unannounced, but we’re already frothing at the mouth for this one.

The Dirtbombs – Sharevari (Omar-S Remix)

Recently charted by Renaissance Man on Resident Advisor, the latest release fromScion A/V pairs Detroit rock band The Dirtbombs with underground Detroit techno legend & Ford Motors employee Omar-S.

The result is steeped in Detroit dance music history, as the original track “Sharevari” by A Number of Names evolved from the legendary Charivari parties that began attracting a cult following in 1980 and was a tribute to Detroit’s high school party scene. This rework feels like a fitting tribute, filtered through the lens of two other Detroit citizens who’ve shaped the sound of the city.

Grab it from soundcloud below. Also, check out the lyrics if you get a chance, they’re on an 80s luxury swag tip.

Worthy – Big Perm (Femme En Fourrure remix)

Last week San Francisco producer and Dirtybirder Worthy brought out the big guns with his “Big Perm” release right here on Discobelle Records, get your big perm on and shake it to this smashing EP. And now to entice you even more, we give you the sexy and luscious remix from Helsinkis very own Femme En Fourrure. Enjoy and go ahead and grab the full EP on Beatport, Boomkat, Juno or iTunes.

“Beware. The perm is back.

Discobelle’s new release from San Francisco’s Worthy is a percolating tech-house ass shaker infused with enough oomph to make you sweat until you’ve messed up your hair. An infectious vocal sample and an uncontainable bubbling vibe make this one peak hour jacking tech-house at its best.

Accompanying the original, we’ve got three great remixes to round out the package from Worthy – Harvard Bass, Renaissance Man and Femme En Fourrure. First up, Harvard Bass gives a chunky, infectious bruiser that strikes a perfect balance between the deeper dancefloors and the uncontrollable, messier ones. Then, architects-turned-house-music-innovators Renaissance Man turn Worthy’s track into a sparse and icy percussive techno journey, continuing to push house music to deeper, stranger places.”

Finally and also from Helsinki, Femme En Fourrure choose to let things simmer a bit with a druggy pulse and some signature female vocals evoking Laura Palmer’s from Twin Peaks if she was making dance music.

Renaissance Man – New Years Mix 2011

One of our favorite Finnish acts – Renaissance Man – brings us a fresh mix dedicated to the new year and to the newly formed alliance between Social Club and Maison Clothes in Paris, this is 50 minutes of techy goodness.

“Two-headed Hydra who speaks with one voice (and mixes with four hands), Renaissance Man was born in 2007 after Jaxxon and Downtown met in a Helsinki architecture agency. To them, house music then conjugate poetry of the right angle and that of the discoball: dancefloor becomes the hub of their obsessions. By streamlining musical rules to their most basic, they managed two “maxi-singles” (boosted by bombs “Spraycan” and “What is Guru”) that bring club music back to its essentials: fervor and functionality.”

Renaissance Man – New Years Mix 2011 by MaisonClothes

PS. Check out the minimal and amazing remix they did for the upcoming Worthy release “Big Perm” on Discobelle Records, it starts about 10 minutes into the mix, will be released shortly…
