Salem takes on the forthcoming single “Hologram” from These New Puritans (will be out 9th August 2010, it’s the third track to be taken from the band’s sophmore album “Hidden” which was released earlier this year to huge critical acclaim). Salem gives us a murky, chopped and screwed remix that draws you into a dark void and never lets you go.

Salem with the eleventh and latest edition of the fantastic We Make It Good mix series.

Pink socks, a dirty mattress, wallpaper peeling off the walls, empty cough syrup bottles, and soiled wall to wall carpeting all come to mind after repeated listens to this new Salem mix. It’s either the perfect accompaniment to the fall/winter blues or soundtrack to scrawling your name on your bedroom wall in blood, it’s up to you.

Still reeling from last nights Smuts party with Bok Bok and Spoek, albeit the club wasn’t packed both Bok Bok and Spoek gave us a pounding with killer sets of bass induced madness and kwaito fun.

Anyway, we got something completely different than that with these two terrifyingly intriguing remixes by Salem of the Gucci Mane tracks “Bird Flu” and “Round One”.

Salem – Frost

The release of the new single “Frost” from Salem, in our opinion one of the most interesting bands around, is due tomorrow and it’s a limited edition 7″ single with foil embossed cover which will be available via Audraglint or the Salem MySpace page. It’s another hauntingly dark and eerie piece that slowly sucks you in.
