Our extended family over in NYC, Plant Music, hands us another quality track from the recently released Sam Young “Peep This” EP, we already posted the remix from Steed Lord. Here’s the Lee Mortimer remix where Lee delivers a raved up dancefloor smash that fits nicely with Aphletiks vocals.

Nod Factor

Dance With Somebody

I’m on a roll with new remixes of tracks from Sweden’s best selling artists. They just keep dropping into my mailbox. Could it have something to do with the fact that Sweden’s biggest holiday, midsummer, is approaching? I don’t know but this time it’s Sam Young who gets Mando Diao’s song “Dance with Somebody” ready for the dance floor.

We have featured Sam Young here on Discobelle frequently. So now that he’s releasing an EP on Plant Music, we are of course on it. The release that also features MC Aphletik was originally made in 2005 but is now re-released on Plant Music with remixes from Lee Mortimer, Steed Lord, Karoshi & DC Joseph and Beatnik has been out on iTunes since May 15th. Listen to the remix by Steed Lord then go to iTunes and buy the EP.

Sketch Iz Dead

Master Shortie is a new MC on the UK scene who is just about to go on tour with Basement Jaxx. Here he gets remix by of the production crew Sketch Iz Dead (Jake Gosling, Sam Young and John Woolf). They have worked with Crookers on there debut album and have remixed artists like Lady Gaga, Keri Hilson, Keane and more. You should be on the look out for more stuff coming your way soon.

Rolling into a new week which will take us to Paris, Berlin and then next week we’re off to the US for SXSW and later on WMC.

As you can tell it’s busy days here at Discobelle HQ but it’s good thing we have this excellent mix by Dominique Keegan (AKA All Dom Wrong, founder of Plant Music and ½ of NYC/Berlin duo The Glass) to keep us company. Mixin’ It Up: Sam Young

This week we got a London DJ Mixin’ It Up for us. Sam Young, who won best DJ at the Club and Bar awards last year, has been killing it this year with his own songs, remixes and production so we just had to get him doing a mix. Let’s get this thing started!

Produced by Jake Gosling and Sam Young – Its getting mad love on Radio 1, Kiss and BBC 1xtra over here in the UK, out on Sept 29th ! High St Ken’s alive ! Haha.

3. Karoshi Bros ‘F**k the World’ (Sam Roqwell & I Sancho Mix)

Had to show some love to the Karoshi Bros as they dropped the vinyl of this recently!

4. Surkin ‘Next of Kin’ (Kid Gloves mix)

I like Kid Gloves recent work, banging club tunes!

5. Rex The Dog ‘I Can See You !’ (Kenson Mix)

A great remix by Kenson of this newbie by Rex.

6. Metronomy ‘Heartbreaker’ (Genuine Guy Mix)

This is a great tune, I also like the Kris Menace mix but this is a little nastier.

7. City Reverb ‘City of Lights’ (Trevor Loveys Mix)

Another top remix by Trev!

8. Martin Solveig ‘I Want You’ (Tepr Mix)

I like most of Martin’s records so I was happy to see Tepr doin a remix, this is just as good as Laidback Lukes mix!

9. Sparta Pinups ‘Work Ya Body’ (Sam Roqwell & I Sancho mix)

Another recent remix by myself and I Sancho.

10. Bloc Party ‘Mercury’ (Flosstradamus Mix)

They are one of my fave bands, I like the dance elements of their sound.

11. Dave Spoon ’88′

Some of the clubs I play in London love the whole progressive/tech house sound, the break on this is to sick to ignore! Its screaming to be sampled :)

12. David Guetta ‘Jack is Back’

I was quite surprised to hear how hard this was when I saw Guetta’s name on it, not for everyone but def one for 4am in the morning!

13. Tiga & Zyntherius ‘Sunglasses at Night’ (Popof mix)

Popof’s mix of this classic is straight filth, Ibiza all the way !

14. Sander Van Doorn ‘Apple’ (Bart B More mix)

I’m a big fan of Bart’s work, def feeling his style and sound.

15. N.E.R.D. vs Eurthymics ‘Sweet Girls’

My boy Charlie played this when he was DJing my Bungalow 8 night and I had to get a copy.

16. DJ LAZ feat Flo-Rida ‘Move, Shake, Drop’

Great party tune for the clubs.

17. The Count & Sinden ‘Hardcore Girls’

Newbie from these guys is one for the clubs.

18. Cut Copy ‘Hearts on Fire’ (Calvin Harris mix)

This is the best mix of this tune in my opinion, love the breakdown.

19. Sam Young vs Silvertongue ‘Miracle’ (Sam Young & I Sancho Dub)

One of my favourite remixes I have done, should be a new version coming soon feat the Loose Cannons.

20. Sam Young feat Aphletik ‘Peep This’ (Steed Lord Mix)

Great remix of my tune by the Steed Lord crew, much respect!

21. Sway feat Lemar ‘Saturday Night Hustle’

Sway is one of the best MC’s in the UK, he made this nice DJ special of his new single for me.

22. David Bendeth ‘Feel The Real’

I thought I would finish on some disco and soul as that is what I grew up collecting and diggin for ! This is a bad ass tune!

23. Bernard Wright ‘Just Chillin Out’

Great voice on this underground gem.

24. Gary’s Gang ‘Do it at the Disco’

I love the vibe of this track, I have a soft spot for Latin music.

25. Prince ‘I feel for you’

Could’nt do a mix and leave the master out !

26. Vernon Burch ‘Get Up’

A obvious choice…

27. Brick ‘Living from the Mind’

Great band that were slept on a bit!”
