SBTRKT – Hold On (SiSi BakBak remix)

The absolutely stunning SBTRKT track “Hold On” receives a reworking from Thom Yorke (of Radiohead fame) and his new SiSi BakBak side project and he churns out a more melancholic and downplayed tone all while maintaining the pulsating and steady beat of the original version.

The “Hold On” deluxe 12″ single will be released on Young Turks Monday February 20th.

SBTRKT – Set from Rinse FM, January 3rd 2012

Rinse FM just unleashed this ferocious radio set done last week by masked producer SBTRKT who continues to provide us with excellence, so much heat on this.

Drake Feat. Rihanna – Take Care

Sooo, the new Drake album leaked today, and this is maybe one of the most interesting cuts from it – heavily using the source material from Jamie XX’s remix of Gil Scott-Heron’s “I’ll Take Care Of You” track.

This makes three Drake songs that’ve worked themselves into the fabric of XL Recordings’ recent material, following the Jai Paul “BTSTU” sampling “Dreams Money Can Buy” and Drizzy’s impromptu rework of SBTRKT’s “Wildfire”.

Hearing Rihanna sing Gil’s lines without the rough scratchy deep voice that we’re accustomed to is a bit jarring, but definitely has its own appeal. Take Care is out Nov. 15th, or on the internet right now.

BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix: SBTRKT (October 15th 2011)

All the recent BBC Radio 1 Essential mixes have been spectacular and the latest one courtesy of Aaron Jerome AKA SBTRKT is no exception. Brilliant mix from the masked UK producer/dj who in our opinion has made one of the top albums of the year. He finishes the mix with a splendid new track entitled “Runaway”. Enjoy!

The self titled debut album from masked clad London producer SBTRKT (real name Aaron Jerome) was the soundtrack to our summer, from the beaches around Rome and Sardegna back to late night house parties in Malmö we listened to this repeatedly. SBTRKT made this awe-inspiring mix in the beginning of September for Mary Anne Hobbs radio show on UK station Xfm and it’s filled to the brink with top class tunes.
