Eric Sharp

The San Francisco based moustache clad gentleman known as Eric Sharp graciously sent over his splendid new mix of house jams that he did for the Blu Jemz Night People radio show on Scion A/V. He also just finished a new remix for the Sunshine Jones single “Fall Down” that is both soulful and minimal, perfect for warming us up here in chilly Scandinavia.

Jokers Of The Scene x Dust La Rock – A Lovely Sort Of Death Mix

Toronto techno/noise pioneering duo Jokers Of The Scene serves up a dark and ominous dj mix for the Dust La Rock and Cody Hudson’s “A Lovely Sort Of Death” exhibition in Los Angeles that opened Friday November 16th and we also get a free download of two new tracks thanks to Scion A/V.

“Canadian electronic duo Jokers of the Scene produce surreal, ambient soundscapes behind spaced out quivering guitar notes that could serve as a soundtrack on an actual trip to the gates of hell.”

Tracklist for the mix after the jump.

Nick Hook – Without You EP

NYC based dj/producer/member of Cubic Zirconia/sake conneisseur and all around genius Nick Hook has worked with some of the hottest artists around and dj’ed pretty much all over the world in the past couple of years. His debut “Without You” EP was done in collaboration with Scion A/V and gives us a glimpse of just how versatile Nick Hook is.

The EP sets out on a number of different styles, textures, and compositions all while still retaining a common thread amongst the tracks, grab the whole thing below and enjoy the exploration of Nick Hook smashing the current dance music scene.

Bruiser Brigade

Rapper Danny Brown leads Detroit collective Bruiser Brigade which also consists of DopeHead, Chip$, Skywlkr and Chavis Chandle, now we get their “Bruiser Brigade EP” – made in cooperation with Scion A/V. It’s a four-track EP that includes the tracks “Errthang” and “Jooky” (with remixes of each track courtesy of Ryan Hemsworth and Lockah).

Stream it below and download for free here.

Felix Cartal (ft. Maja Ivarsson) – Tonight (video)

“This song is one of my personal favourites from the record, Maja’s voice really rounded it out into a pure, pop tune. We wanted to make a video that complimented the mood of the song, and a reminiscent summer video was the perfect way to do it. Summer Anthem 2012.”

Frenzy x Scion Sessions

Our old friend Iggy Smalls from Ottawa runs a monthly party together with Drastik (another old friend of us here at Discobelle) called “Frenzy” where they look to book and feature up and coming artists that they feel are on the cusp of something big and that have a new interesting sound. Scion Sessions just started a Canadian chapter of events, where they also aim to push new emerging sounds and thus an alliance was formed with Frenzy to start doing minimixes with the Frenzy dj guests.

To start things off NYC producer and the man responsible for the massive track “Harlem Shake” Baauer made a mix a few weeks ago to reflect his gig with Halifax hero Ryan Hemsworth, 20 minutes of serious tunes ranging across trap, hip hop and bone rattling bass.

Also, yesterday Toronto producer and Pelican Fly member Deebs dropped this awesome mix in anticipation of his upcoming Frenzy show tomorrow Friday August 3rd.

Buraka Som Sistema – Peaches

Pure heat in the form of “Peaches” from Buraka Som Sistema, check them out on their North American tour this month. (Via Scion Sessions)

“So, after a couple of weeks in the studio, we ended up w/ a bunch of demos and ideas about where to take our sound next. Somehow these demos landed on someone’s desk at Scion Sessions and they asked us if we could finish one of the songs! Because we’re cool guys and as you know we LoOoOove to share our music, we did it, and here’s the result! Let us know what you think.”

Tourdates after the jump.
