Tell-Me-EP-art

The Kansas City based Think 2wice label put out their sixth release yesterday. The “Tell Me” EP is the first release of original production from label heads Tactic (Ben Fuller & Brent Lippincott). They’ve previously released remixes on labels such as Mad Decent, Dress 2 Sweat and Seclusiasis. The opening “Valhalla” track goes headfirst into early 90’s club territory and encapsulates a menacing synth line before some Baltimore club drums take over and push the track over the top.

The “In Ya Face EP” is just about to be released (March 9th) on Seclusiasis and it’s a huge dancefloor stormer. Often referred to as the first track to identify Philadelphian production team Dev79 and Starkeys “Street Bass” sound, the original version of this bassheavy tune starts with a throbbing and lurching rhythm mixing with the samples to set the mood before the full on 4×4 dancefloor action kicks in with the cut-up girl rapping “In Ya Face”.

Brazil’s wild man producer/MC/DJ Edu K, Venezuelan producer/DJ Pharaoh (of Todosantos fame), Torontos very own Egyptrixx and Chi-town favorite Willy Joy all sprinkle some remix goodness on the EP.
