Jackpot is a trio from Stockholm and with the release of their italodisco/early house infused “Ragazza” EP (on Service/Permanent Vacation) they quickly garnered quite a buzz. They are the latest ones to release an EP for the Rvng of the Nrds 12″ series on NYC label RVNG. The track “Brief Encounter” that we got for you is a funky disco gem with a dancey string arrangement and handclaps aplenty all while a buzzing rhytm keeps you locked to the dancefloor.

Lake Heartbeat is the new project from 90′s Swedish indiepop icon Janne Kask (formerly of a group called Brainpool). The quiet pop single “Between Dreams” was produced by Dan Lissvik (of Studio fame) and was just released on Service which happens to be one of the best labels in Sweden (think The Tough Alliance, Jens Lekman etc).

Kool DJ Dust AKA Stockholm dj, cratedigger and former skwee affiliate Daniel Savio has been featured here on Discobelle in the past. He will re-release the album “The Disco Opera” (which originally came out in 2006) on Swedish label Service on September 23rd. The concept album consists of 19 tracks and revolves around the battle between an evil dj who has enslaved the club life in a city with soulless tracks/mixes and the hero Dust who is on a mission to find a magic record to in order to free the crowds. The album is packed with samples and it’s a sweet journey of smooth discofunk. Kool DJ Dust recently did a set for the Beats In Space radioshow which showcases his style and it perfectly suits these lazy sunday afternoons.
