The Memory Cassette “Call And Response” debut 7″ was recently released by the good people over at Acephale in collaboration with Sweden’s finest Sincerely Yours, limited to 500 copies (some copies could be available at select stores). This remix of the track “Surfin” from Weird Tapes did of himself is a delicate and heavenly piece of bleepy, summery pop music and it’s part of the “Calls & Responses EP” (includes new remixes of Memory Cassette by Friend, CFCF, Sail A Whale and Shadow Self).

All the remixes are to be given away at high quality for free through blogs and will be available as a single download through the We’re Tapes blog shortly.

Just what we needed, another simple yet irrestingly beautiful slice of Swedish pop music from the Sincerely Yours camp. This particular track is called “From Africa To Málaga” and was done by previously unknown jj.

The third release on Canadian label Acephale Records is a collaboration with the Swedes in Sincerely Yours (The Tough Alliance, Air France) to co-release Memory Cassette/Weird Tapes’ first record – “Call & Response”. It’s a four track EP on 7″ white vinyl and as always it’s limited to 500 copies (available as presale). To promote the release the labels asked a few of their favourite people to do some remixes, all of which will be released through blogs.

Air France, our favorite Swedish tropical indiepop/disco outfit, just released a new EP on the Sincerely Yours label. It’s called “No Way Down” and features this track “June Evenings”. It’s a summery piece of popmusic with horns, shimmering samples and beautiful vocals.

This is the new Jonas Game single “Fish And Shark” that’s released by Sincerely Yours today. Heartfelt pop music the way it’s done in Sweden. Here’s the story:

“I rented a string quartet and professional musicians, went into a fancy studio contrary to my ideals. Somehow lost myself along the way, sort of like Fleetwood Mac in the 90’s. The bill ended at more than 30 000 SEK, oh the anxiety but as a gentleman i decided to give the track away for free, maybe just to further disappoint studio owners and musicians who were promised the profit.
