For his sophomore release on Whiskey Disco, Dutch disco boy, Olivier Boogie drops his “I Know You Care EP” and we’ve gotta tell ya…. it’s super hot! Comprised of four tracks, this brand-spankin-new, 12″ slab blurs the line between house and disco re-edits with it’s loopy and ultra-funky cuts. “I Know You Care” is smooth and sweet with a beefed up bottom end while “Come Inside” is a hands-in-the-air, disco explosion of sensuality. On the B-side, “How High” brings a hypnotic bass groove together with lush vibraphone snips and sultry vocals while the closing tune, “Watch Your Step” bumps up the good time vibes with heavy doses of dancefloor swagger. Essential purchase, ya’ll!

The Editor’s Kutz label drops in for it’s sixth installment of re-edit wizardry with a stout assembly of producers including Ed Wizard & Disco Double Dee, Doc Jam, The Silver Rider, Sleazy McQueen and label owner, Vinyladdicted. This 12″ package is pressed up and a minty-cool, opaque vinyl and limited to 300 copies with no intention of a repress or digital release, so snap it up while you can!

We kick things off with Vinyladdicted & Sleazy McQueen’s “Free (From Social Narcotics),” a groove-laden, mid-tempo stepper with a loopy bassline and rich organ riffs. Next up, Ed Wizard & Disco Double Dee drop the “Stellar Dub,” a cosmic voyage to the outer reaches of the funkiest known galaxies while on the flipside, The Silver Rider gets steamy and sultry with “Good Luvin’ Baby.” Closing things up is Doc Jam and “In Your Eyes,” another looped out foray into boogie-territory with tons of swagger and booty-bumpin’ gusto.

Smokecloud Records is a dope little label out of Athens, GA that produces high quality, highly collectable vinyl releases of the dance persuasion. Their latest offering is a multi-artist compilation entitled “Smokecloud Blend” and features tunes from Osmose, the label’s founder, Denver’s own disco lord, Falcon Punch, a collab from VinylAddictied & SMQ plus one from Brooklyn new comer, The Silver Rider. This diverse collection of tracks covers a variety of dance floor needs and is the perfect addition to a vinyl DJ’s arsenal.

Dropping in on the A-Side, The Silver Rider’s “Sly & Pat” gets things nice and warm with his low-slung, psychedelic take on a “mighty” disco classic. Hot on it’s heels, Falcon Punch amps up the tempo with a heavy slice of funk with his superb cut, “Move.” Flip it over and we get the thick-as-molases beatdown vibes of Osmose’s “Caught Up” and a rocksteady bless-up of Diana Ross’ classic “Upside Down,” here titled “CC Tribute” and offered by the incomparable team of VinylAddicted + SMQ.

Generally recognized as a re-edit label, Whiskey Disco shakes things up a bit with the latest from Icelandic producer, B.G. Baarregaard and the ‘Disco Inn Ep’…. his third solo release for the imprint. Kicking it off, the title track wastes no time injecting the funk into your stride with some heavy handclaps, a Moog bassline, some sweet stabs and beautiful ah’s and oh’s… a total winner on this one! B-side, ‘Undercover Lover’ sees B.G. add his signature flair to some nice, 80’s source material while closing track, ‘Kaffibarinn’ pays homage to the legendary Icelandic club, formerly owned by Damon Albarn!

The sneaky re-edit label, Whiskey Disco, heads for the stars on this interstellar voyage dubbed the ‘Space Dance EP.’ Four chucks of funky, cosmic disco sultriness permeate this vinyl release thats available for purchase here.

Hristo kicks things off with the psychedelic leanings of ‘X-otic Love’ while unknown new-comer, Satisfaction, Love & Passion amp up the vibes with heavy strings and marimbas on ‘Dance (Dance, Dance).’ My favorite, motor-city scalpel wielder, Pontchartrain, dominates the b-side with some serious versions of classic La Bionda and Nightlife Unlimited. ‘Be My Lover’ is a bottom-heavy, almost acidic romp thru the galaxy while ‘Dance With Me’s’ chant is hypnotic and irresistible.

Limited vinyl run, get it while ya can!

Purveyors of cosmic funk, Florida based imprint Whiskey Disco (helmed by the inimitable Sleazy McQueen) has dropped their second release from Icelandic act, B.G. Baarregaard. Consisting of two classic reworks, one original composition plus a bonus, free download… the ‘Love Deluxe EP’ has something for everyone.

‘The Sound’ kicks things off with funky percussion loops, bubbling acid riffs and a brilliant use of the original source material. ‘The Return’ drops the tempo to funkier territories with heavy take on the only song anyone cares to remember from Mr. Mark Morrison… girl, you know that ain’t no lie. ‘The Desire’ wraps things up with a beautiful excursion in to piano-laden, Italo stylings with familiar vocal snips.

I hadn’t heard of Hardkiss before yesterday and clearly I’ve been missing out. The San Francisco group originally formed in the 90s and took a hiatus. After the death of Scott Hardkiss, the other two members Gavin and Robbie partnered with Scott’s wife to relaunch the Hardkiss Music Label with a new release, “1991,” released back in April. Now Gavin and Robbie share a remix package for the fifth track “Flowers Blooming/Glow Of Love,” which we’re proud to premiere today.

The remix package for “Flowers Blooming/Glow of Love” is a driving musical journey first stopping in ’90s Detroit before putting the top down and heading straight for the California sunshine. The original track features the vocals of Robbie Hardkiss and remixes from Mark E, Space Coast (Sleazy McQueen), Love Athletics, Curious Yellow and more. There’s truly something in here for every musical palette. Mark E’s remix is understated, driven by a funky bass guitar line while C rework is for the disco lovers. Listen to the whole remix package below.
