Gas Lamp Killer – Anything Worse

Los Angeles dj/producer Gas Lamp Killer is the resident DJ at the Low End Theory club and he has received much acclaim for his magnificent turntable skills and his wild stage presence. He’s now ready to unleash his debut release, the “My Troubled Mind” EP which is set to drop on August 4th on Flying Lotus’ own label Brainfeeder imprint.

“Anything Worse” is filled with drum breaks, samples of psych/funk trumpets, horror sound effects along with eerie synth lines making this into something really special.

Barcelona Bass + ticket giveaway

Our friends down in Barcelona – Plat Du Jour – are getting ready for the madness that is more commonly known as the Sonar festival. The city will be invaded by thousands of sun craving, alcohol/substance fueled yet surprisingly calm and friendly dance tourists from all over the world. The Plat Du Jour crew will host a spectacular off-Sonar night at Club Mondo this thursday (the 18th) and they were kind enough to offer you faithful Discobelle readers who might be in the city 2 pairs of tickets for the extravaganza (acts confirmed are Flying Lotus, Mumdance, Jackmaster etc. Check the full lineup after the jump, it’ll be mad). Just send us an e-mail with “Party Du Jour” in the subject line and we’ll pick out two lucky winners but hurry up, deadline is thursday at noon.

To further promote the night, here’s a funky and bass filled mix (if you start a mix with a Joker track, then we know that it’s a winner) that Plat Du Jour member K**O (you might remember his “Espanish Boogie Mixtape”) did for Fact Magazine.

FACT Mix: K**O – Bajo de Verano (Summer Bass) (zShare)

Kid606 – European Barbarians Get Down mix

I remember catching Kid606 a few years back at the Sonar festival in Barcelona, he played in some church near the MACBA in the smoldering heat one afternoon and he absolutely blew that place to pieces and brought a sweaty dancing mass down with him. Since then he’s worked on his Tigerbeat6 label, he’s moved to Berlin and is now ready for the release of his new album “Shout At The Doner” (drops April 28th). Here’s a smashing mix to get your juices flowing in anticipation of that release.

BONUS: Check the bassline heavy track “Mr Wobbles Nightmare” courtesy of RCRD LBL, it’s posted along with a raved up Acid Jacks remix.

Frankie Knuckles – Pig Radio mix

It’s Midsummer here in Sweden today, and those of us not hanging out at Sonar are getting ready to eat some herring and drink some snaps. But before we get all rowdy we just had to post this. Our Italian homies at Pig Mag/Pig Radio just gave out this pretty much all awesome mix done by the godfather of housemusic, Frankie Knuckles. We’ll be jamming this for weeks!
