Caravan/Watching You + Miami party

We just recieved an e-mail with two goodies from the Sound Pellegrino camp. A couple of weeks ago the French label released the new EP “Caravan/Watching You” from Swedish purveyors of bass and production genius duo known as Savage Skulls.

First out is the amazing Jacques Greene remix of “Caravan” which was included on the EP.

“Montreal prodigy Jacques Greene known for his releases on excellent labels Night Slugs and Luckyme, who is single-handedly buiding the proverbial bridge between true skool house aficionados and UK-obsessed garage heads, provided us with a fantastic 90’s sounding remix of “Caravan” in his signature groove, complete with funky stabs and vintage drum sounds.”

Savage Skulls – Caravan (Jacques Greene remix) (ge.tt)

Second, a brand new unreleased modern-baile-funk remix of “Caravan” by Rio de Janeiro based producer Leo Justi which was previewed on this week’s Sound Pellegrino podcast.

“Leo Justi likes it rough. 24 year old brazilian DJ and producer is a fan of the sexually-charged baile funk anthems that echo through his hometown of Rio de Janeiro. While his Hype Machine generation peers may think of Baile Funk as an occasional spice to remixes or as something Diplo once liked, Justi digs deep into the sound of Rio’s slums. These raw sounds serve as a basis to his music, while he adds dark atmospheres, chunks of different beat patterns and the occasional sonic joke to them. Justi has a broad musical influence, been an Ozzy fan, played guitar in rock and reggae bands, loves Super Cat and Chet Baker… his mixes, however, aim at only one thing: dancefloor frantic trance.”

Sound Pellegrino presents: Savage Skulls – Caravan/Watching You

Another big release from the Sound Pellegrino camp, the “Caravan/Watching You” EP by Swedish production tag team Savage Skulls drops on February 14th.

“Infamous duo Savage Skulls are back and they found some time between their collaborative projects with Robyn, Douster, Crookers and Marcus Price to hit with two slick dancefloor destroyers. “Caravan” is a tech house stomper backed by a mesmerizing melody of vocal chops that you will instantly recognize. “Watching You”, their collaboration with flatmate Tony Senghore and vocalist Sprinkle Juice is raw, stripped-down backroom electro at its finest: sensitive but not devoid of muscle. On remix duties, Montreal sensation Jacques Greene (Lucky Me, Night Slugs) united garage deepness with a jacking 90′s feel, while Made To Play’s Payme (Jaime Anderson from Idiotproof) offers a classy tracky rework build for the front room.”

Night Slugs x Sound Pellegrino

Vibes galore on this exclusive Night Slugs x Sound Pellegrino mix done for their b2b night at the Social Club in Paris on January 28th.

Panteros-666

X Lova

NYC outfit Cubic Zirconia remixes the track “X Lova” from French producer Panteros666 who just dropped his debut EP “Kegstand” on Sound Pellegrino, we’ll leave it to Teki to provide us with must be the best description of a remix that we’ve come across in some time.

“”X LOVA” finds inspiration in a mixture of dreamy euro hardstyle, Chicago hard house backroom grooves, as well as the darkest of witch house. Pan flutes from the mysterious cities of gold and invocations of the Quetzalcoatl meet sweaty leathery hardcore rave and chopped up rap vocals, late at night during a ritual pagan ceremony in a forest somewhere in Wisconsin. Enigmatic New York post-everything group CUBIC ZIRCONIA deliver an amazingly swampy-yet-beautifully erotic remix. Tiombe Lockhart the group’s soulful vocalist whispers words of revenge over cold drum machines before producer Nick Hook screws the tempo down into a dark codeine dream.”

Clotheslines

Tim Wagner of 33Hz is the man behind exciting new NYC based label Dither Down, who are about to release the “Clotheslines EP” from NYC singstress Saadi that features remixes from Daniel Haaksman, Douster, Lazy Flow and more. The Daniel Haaksman remix has already garnered well deserved praise from among others Sound Pellegrino Thermal Team and we’re happy to be giving it away as a Discobelle exclusive. The Man Recordings head honcho chips in some bubbling acid samba with his remix, which propells it straight to the dancefloor.

BONUS: Saadi just dropped a “Pre Party Jamz” mixtape on Nicky Digital today.

Pre Party Jamz Volume 109: Saadi

BONUS 2: For those in New York tomorrow night, there is a release party at Ella with Saadi performing live, special guests Bajah of the Dry Eye Crew and DJ’s Chief Boima of Ghetto Bassquake and Uproot Andy.

Sacha Di Manolo – Cannibal

French producer Sacha Di Manolo gives us his new single “Cannibal”, which just came out on Parisian label Ekleroshock Records and here’s the fine sounding infectious remix from Club Cheval member Panteros666 who gives us a synthtastic tribal house output. It’s no wonder his releases are hyped by the likes of Sound Pellegrino, Nightshifters et al.

Post-Time Travel Nosebleed

Teki Tek and Orgasmic AKA Sound Pellegrino Thermal Team got together once again to present a mix that’s so hot it’ll make your ears melt, there’s even a Discobelle Records treat towards the very end of the mix.

“This one is called “Post-Time Travel Nosebleed”, it’s the follow up to the acclaimed “It’s Raining Crystals From The Future” mix, which has been one of the all time top Mixcloud Cloudcasts since last spring, with a total of 9940 plays as i type this. As of now, all the tracks on Post-Time Travel Nosebleed are unreleased. We feel that this mix gives a good idea of the many futures of house music, from our point of view”.

Gucci Vump – Shashtilism (video)

Discobelle exclusive video premiere.

Pomp & Clout together with Scion A/V gives us a toned down and pretty video for the hypnotizing track “Shashtilism” from Gucci Vump (taken off the Sound Pellegrino X Scion “Straight From The Spring” compilation)

Sound Pellegrino x Phenomenon

“We made this little “buddy video” (the short version of a “buddy movie”?) in the lovely 15ème arrondissement of Paris to put the spotlight on the mega limited (4 pieces in the universe) Phenomenon x Sound Pellegrino polos.

The story behind the polos is that Big O (the head of japanese designer brand Phenomenon, with whom i had the honor to collaborate on a capsule collection last January) made them as a present for us last time we were in Tokyo. Only 4 pieces exist, one in each color for Orgasmic and I. Aside from being THE best present anyone has ever given to us, these polos are beautifully crafted and mark another step in our collaboration with the amazing label Phenomenon. Stay tuned for more!

The video also serves as a teaser for the forthcoming Funkin Matt remix of my track Dinosaurs With Guns, taken from a remix EP dropping in a few days.”
