Naeem (formerly known as Spank Rock) has just announced his new alias and shares the first song from this new chapter. The frantic sounding track “Sway(e)d” was released last week via Boysnoize Records. Earlier this year, Bon Iver brought Naeem on stage at Bonnaroo to debut three new songs from the project.

“Sway(e)d” marks the first official release, and is reminiscent of the old Spank Rock sound but tackles the feelings of paranoid confusion, desperation and aggression felt globally these past few years. It’s a call on listeners to lift up the downtrodden.”

Last year, the Baltimore duo Normaling (.rar Kelly and DJ Lemz) released the booming and dancefloor destroying track “Low Drop” last year via Space Is The Place Records and it immediately picked up plays from the likes of Teki Latex, Spank Rock, Branko, Lewis Cancut etc.

Now, about a year later we get the remix EP for the single and we here at Discobelle can premiere a remix from two of NYC’s tropical bass heavyweights – namely Banginclude & Comrade who drops a Caribbean kind of feel with fancy flutework and a bootyshaking beat.

Last year Italian disco/pop duo M+A were the winners of the annual Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition, beating 2000 entrants in the process and they were chosen to showcase their sound with a trio of performances alongside M.I.A, Disclosure and Goldfrapp.

Now, Michele Ducci and Alessandro Degli Angioli debuts their “Anyway Milkyway EP”, which was released on April 20th (guest appearances from Baltimore club rapping sensation Spank Rock and hyped Berlin songstress DENA. On the EP we hear them combine sun soaked dance pop with electronic beats.

This mix that we can premiere here on Discobelle is filled with the same warm sound as their EP as it runs through guilty pleasures of childhood hits along with more present favorites. Enjoy!
