If you’re in New York then we’ve got your chance to see Cosmo Baker and Stretch Armstrong at REVIVAL at FreeCandy this Saturday, May 11th. Stretch Armstrong first gained notoriety from the Stretch and Bobbito radio show, one of the best hip hop shows in New York history. Stretch is responsible for introducing hip hop legends like Biggie Smalls, Nas, Wu-Tang, and Mobb Deep. Not only that, Stretch is also the co-founder of the NY-based label Plant Music. Cosmo Baker is a great in his own right, a master of everything from hip-hop to disco to funk and bringing it all back together.

NYC’s reigning disco king Eli Escobar finally drops the long awaited digital version of his “Set My Heart On Fire” EP on Plant Music and we got our hands on this amazing bonus remix by the man himself as part of the package. Stretch Armstrong added his editing skills to the track and you can find the remix as part of a 4 track EP (dropping in November) which also includes the original “All Night Long (Set My Heart on Fire Pt. 2) featuring Amy Douglas and Make Me Feel. The two other tracks on the EP were featured on Eli’s White Label 12″ that dropped this summer which you can find it on Juno.

The Plant Music DJ tour to support the Scion A/V Sampler release this week set off last weekend with shows in Paris and Berlin. This weekend will see The Glass, Stretch Armstrong, DJ Wool & Dominique foray to London and Munich.

This was in the mail this weekend but unfortunately there was little to no time for blog posts.

Plant Music bosses in The Glass comes through with a superbly done minimal/tech house remix from up and coming Brazilian producer Komka of their latest single track “Superhero”. The Glass are just finishing their album and are doing US dates in March and April dates along with NYC friends Stretch Armstrong and Eli Escobar to help support the Plant Music Scion compilation which will be released late March. All the boys will also head over to Europe in April.

Our friends in Plant Music are doing a benefit party in Brooklyn tonight. If you’re in the area, head on out since it looks like good fun and it’s for a good cause (All proceeds from the parties will go to support the UnionDocs space and the artist residency programs it supports). We got this remix by Dolby Anol of the Kap10Kurt “Mission Complete” track to promote the event.
