Available today on Tiefblau Records is the latest incantation from Texas based, synth-pop duo, MNYNMS (pronounced “Many Names.”) The mystical tapestry woven by vocalist, Jessica Wahlquist and producer, J.Childs is one that wraps the listener in atmospheric pads, sparkly synth work and low-slung rhythms… case in point: their latest “remake” of Thomas Roberts’ “Secret Garden.”

The original version is an uptempo, decidedly “club” oriented record, one that utilizes layers of arpeggiated synth lines and ominous textures. Though it’s easy to see where MNYNMS drew their inspiration, there is little that can connect the two recordings. The impressive, original lyrics alone are something to admire and easily establishes MNYNMS as a force of unique talent. Not to mention J.Childs exceptional production work shines as a robust framework for Wahlquist’s willowy vibrations to flitter upon.
