DJ P.O.L.Style shoot us an e-mail with some of his recent work, residing in Tokyo but he grew up in Glasgow. Back in 2003 P.O.L.Style and the members of Dress 2 Sweat, Wireblock and Stuff Records, along with a couple of other friends, formed the event Numbers and invited guests such as DJ Funk, Diplo, A-Trak, Modeselektor, Ghostface Killah, Kid Sister, Squarepusher and Autechre. Numbers was also ranked among ‘Best Club Events of the Year 2008′ in MixMag! He’s wrecking the clubs over in Tokyo at the moment, about to drop stuff on NY label T&A Records (operated by Tittsworth & DJ Ayres) and also on Dress 2 Sweat Records. On top of that, he’s running the Numbers party in Tokyo and recently started a new party called Tonight together with Vice Magazine and Turntable Lab Japan (this friday DJ Ayres is flying in to throw down one of his patented party sets at La Fabrique)
P.O.L.Style was kind enough to give us a bunch of his tracks to post and he comes out hard on these – incorporating horns, chopped up vocals and mean beats to create fast paced club stompers. First out is a b-more houseish remix of the Gaines track “BBBDance” that features French rapper Teki Latex, then we have the tracks “Get Yo Handz Up” and “I Hope U” which showcases his different styles. The former is on that wobbly bass fidgety tip while the latter is more of a straight up b-more track. Watch out for his upcoming singles on T&A and Dress 2 Sweat since they’re guaranteed to destroy!

Mr Fairtilizer with a tip on a new mix from Teki Latex and DJ Orgasmic to promote fresh new label Sound Pellegrino. The first release is coming from our favorite London blokes – Zombie Disco Squad. Here’s some info on the label from Teki:
“Sound Pellegrino’s sonic identity is a paradox. When I play the current house and techno music that I like to my French “banging electro” friends they think it’s minimal. When I play it to minimal DJs they think it bangs too hard. We love hard stuff when it’s creative and groovy, and we love minimalist music when it’s not boring nore serious. The first two Sound Pellegrino releases totally embody that state of mind.”

“Zombie Disco Squad are two London blokes with a passion for forest grooves and tribal drums as well as profound respect for pure house music and classy techno. In-between releases for two of the most acclaimed electronic music labels of today (Claude Von Stroke’s Dirtybird and Jesse Rose’s Made To Play) they made us the honor to inaugurate Sound Pellegrino with the release of their single “Esperanto/Eurovision”. The two Baile House bangers merge South American accordions with mini B-more rythms made playable at Panorama Bar. With Mowgli providing an eerie horror score take on “Eurovision” and Solo remixing “Esperanto” into a deep techno sure shot, we could easily tell you this release represents House music’s cultural diversity at its best–but frankly, who cares about the whole “world music” shtick anyway? Forthcoming release is coming from Argentina’s French expat Douster with “Freak Mode/For Weirdos Only”, re-inventing jacking house into a half intimate-half frenetic wonky banjo ride.

Hatchmatik from Montreal just did a tour in Asia, dropped by Sweden for a gig in Stockholm at Pom Pom and also finished this remix of that Teki Latex & Cuizinier banger “The Good Guys” (you might remember that crazy good video we posted about a week ago). As usual, Matt cranks it up a notch or should we say ten, giving the track a whole new frantic level of club destroying qualities which means you get handclaps, chopped up vocals, nasty synthstabs and a tough as nails beat.

Audioporno just made a remix of the Teki Latex track “Go Go Go”. Mel from Audioporno just sent over the remix with a note that he wanted us to post.
“Sometimes there is no way to make a song harder, better, faster or stronger by remixing it. You could only fail by trying then. In such situations there is just one thing a remixer/producer can do: Create something different. That’s what Mel from Audioporno did when he reworked “Go Go Go” by Teki Latex feat. The Genevan Heathen and gave it a complete new taste – an oriental taste.”
