Noob – April Mix For Discobelle

Hard to believe that this April marks Noob’s first independent solo release on Popof founded label Form Music. After all, we’ve been listening to remix ‘pon remix from the French native, from the WMC touted “Dinosaurs With Guns” collaboration to remixes of everyone from Proxy to style of Eye and Tiga.

And then there was that moment in 2009 that found Noob releasing the mindworm known as “Peanuts Club” with Brodinski, a twerky “techno circus from hell” themesong that was stuck in the brains of dancefloor citizens everywhere (whether they wanted it to be or not). Oh god, and then the video…

Now the Crumble EP comes with four startlingly good original productions a Para One / Teki Latex collaboration coming straight out of the depths of vocoder hell, maybe Teki’s “Ibiza breakthrough moment” or perhaps not quite yet (but even if it’s not, it’s excellent).

Grab it on beatport, and enjoy an April mix from Noob loaded with new tracks from COSMIN TRG, Kink and Bobmo below.

VENUS X mix for V Man Magazine

Not trying to sound too much like the dance music equivalent of TMZ, but there’s been some interesting twitter beef between New York based Venus X of the New York based “euphoric, ghetto-fantasy house” GHE20 G0TH1K party and Diplo recently. All about the identity of hardstyle, perspective, history, authenticity, privilege and post-modernism, it’s a discussion about who has the rights to play what music, when, and where.

You can read the full exchange over at The Fader, which includes some insults involving Hot Topic and one point where Diplo gets called the new Columbus.

Even though most people might agree with Teki Latex’s flustered assertion that DJ Orgasmic and Panteros666 have been playing hardstyle way before either Diplo or the GHE20 G0TH1K folks, I think a bit of spirited discussion around this sort of stuff is never a bad idea.

Now that your curiousity is piqued, check out a mix that Venus X and $HAYNE put together for V Man Magazine, full of what’s been described as:

“a best-of hardstyle apocalypse mix with Nicki and RiRi cameos and mega witchcraft and cats, alongsidespecial ed YouTube slam poetry, Fairuza Balk soundbites from The Craft, Bustah Rhymes instrumentals, and the screeching and meowing of cats.”

Listen at your own risk. Also, if you feel like weighing in on the argument, leave some thoughts below.

Canblaster – Clockworks

If this (possibly NSFW, depending on where you work) video wasn’t enough proof that Nightshifters is dedicated to doing dance music a truly weird & original fashion, then the latest release from Club Cheval footsoldier Canblaster should do the job.

After turning everything from shattering windows, laser beams and old modem sounds into percussion on his past several remixes, 22 year old Cédric Steffens brings forth the “Master Of Complication” EP, which is “a concept record about time, speed and, well, the complexity of watches.”

As genre-defying as dance music comes these days, “Clockworks”, the slowest track (132bpm), kicks it all off with a soaring melody of reverberant House stabs and ticking watch beats. One notch faster is the UK influenced jam “Triple Ring” (140bpm), a footwork inspired fistfight inducing tune called “Lost In The Shell” (160bpm) and more. Teki Tek and Para One also contribute an android-human hybrid remix worthy of unravelling time and space as we know it.

Grab the musical equivalent to the Large Hadron Collider HERE, and check out a free Canblaster track from the EP below.

Panteros-666

X Lova

NYC outfit Cubic Zirconia remixes the track “X Lova” from French producer Panteros666 who just dropped his debut EP “Kegstand” on Sound Pellegrino, we’ll leave it to Teki to provide us with must be the best description of a remix that we’ve come across in some time.

“”X LOVA” finds inspiration in a mixture of dreamy euro hardstyle, Chicago hard house backroom grooves, as well as the darkest of witch house. Pan flutes from the mysterious cities of gold and invocations of the Quetzalcoatl meet sweaty leathery hardcore rave and chopped up rap vocals, late at night during a ritual pagan ceremony in a forest somewhere in Wisconsin. Enigmatic New York post-everything group CUBIC ZIRCONIA deliver an amazingly swampy-yet-beautifully erotic remix. Tiombe Lockhart the group’s soulful vocalist whispers words of revenge over cold drum machines before producer Nick Hook screws the tempo down into a dark codeine dream.”

Post-Time Travel Nosebleed

Teki Tek and Orgasmic AKA Sound Pellegrino Thermal Team got together once again to present a mix that’s so hot it’ll make your ears melt, there’s even a Discobelle Records treat towards the very end of the mix.

“This one is called “Post-Time Travel Nosebleed”, it’s the follow up to the acclaimed “It’s Raining Crystals From The Future” mix, which has been one of the all time top Mixcloud Cloudcasts since last spring, with a total of 9940 plays as i type this. As of now, all the tracks on Post-Time Travel Nosebleed are unreleased. We feel that this mix gives a good idea of the many futures of house music, from our point of view”.

Tracklist after the jump.

Gaines

We don’t get that many e-mails from Japan but yesterday DJ Daruma of Dexpistols/Roc Star Tokyo blog hit us up to let us know about a new dj mix from an artist featured on their Roc Trax label. Gaines is a twin duo (Kiboo and Koboo) from Tokyo who have worked with Teki Latex and have a new EP due to be released in early 2011, they seem to be holding it down when it comes to that bass filled dance music that we all get down to in the club, check the mix to hear it for yourselves.

Tracklist can be found after the jump.
