The Presets - Kicking And Screaming (Bang Gang’s E is for Edit)

Aussie crew The Bang Gang Deejays follow up their “Light Sound Dance” mixcd that came out last year with a double disc monster called “D Is For Disco, E Is For Dancing” (released on Modular).

To promote the release they’re offering up their take of the track “Kicking And Screaming” originally done by fellow Australian group The Presets. They try their hand on this with some added pizzazz and flair with among other things the occasional breakdown all while maintaining a pretty nasty synthline.

Yeah, we know this made the rounds last week but we’ve been holding for clearance from Modular. One of our favorite Canadian producers (we have a ton of them), disco maestro CFCF, remixes the latest single “Talk Like That” (off their latest album “Apocalypso”, digital only release and it’s out now) from Aussie duo The Presets.

Getting ready to head to the station to catch a train to Gothenburg and this mix done by K.I.M (Kim Moyes, 1/2 of Australian electronic duo The Presets) looks like a perfect mix for the trip.

“It’s one loopy, tripped out summer vacation you wish you were on, veering from the bendy early synth work of Raymond Scott to the politico-funk of Public Enemy to the twisted techno of Aphex Twin and Compuphonic & Kolombo with a polite dash of Sepultura thrown in for good measure, G E T O F F T H E B E A C H feels fabulous at midday and sublime at midnight. All aboard!”

Australian electropop duo The Presets gives us the new track “Talk Like That”. The original is one funky pop number but fellow countryman Miami Horror makes this even harder to resist and aims straight for the dancefloor with a swift and steady house update that comes complete with handclaps and bleepy synths.
