DJ Nibc is a Berlin-based but Gothenburg-born DJ/producer and also Trunkfunk Records head honcho that together with vocalist Anthony Mills decided to pay a tongue-in-cheek tribute to “The Doorman” with an acidlike, techy single that twists and pulsate until finally settling nicely in a dancefloor eruption. Huge remixes on the single comes from new heroes AM Track, Stockholm legend Kornel Kovacs, house duo Casino Times, Gothenburg outfit Shakarchi & Straneus, electropopsters The Touch, Maxim Lany and Those Random Kids.

If the brooding, slightly off pitch minimal pop tint of The Touch’s new Sermon EP on Kitsune doesn’t grab you with its purty imagery, then the sewer dwelling remix monstrosity that Renaissance Man have woven out of some stark percussion and swollen vocal chops will absolutely do the trick. Plus, if you missed it several years ago now, The Touch provide a robotic tribute to R. Kelly with their endearing bootleg edit of “The World’s Greatest”, obviously a respectful tribute to the Pied Piper of R&B.

Might be midsummer, but this new Renaissance Man sounds like a tornado rolled through a beach and threw a bunch of tourists into the ocean.

That is to say, packed with brooding, dark techy dancefloor killers, including new tracks from Matias Aguayo, Renaissance Man’s upcoming remix for The Touch on Kitsune, as well as an original track from their forthcoming album – the eerie, Tiga charted and already critically acclaimed “Stalker Humanoid”, which sounds like it could be the soundtrack to a movie involving robot consciousness and a dystopian Tokyo in the future where it’s raining all the time.

Swedish but Berlin based label Trunkfunk Records are on a roll at the moment, their latest release is the “Bitchfight” EP from British producers Trevor Loveys and Affie Yusuf. The track features Spoek (our favorite South African rapper and all around amazing fella) and this awesome remix from Gothenburg trio The Touch which boasts some tribalistic drums, a little bit of that wobble bass, cowbells and layers of synthy goodness.

Fredrik AKA DJ Nibc is originally from Gothenburg, Sweden but now resides in Berlin where he runs the Trunkfunk label. He just finished a long (2 hours 20 minutes) live mix that is basically a conclusion of his summer in Berlin. This mix is filled with good stuff such as three exclusive Trunkfunk tracks; among them a remix from Stuffa (on the same track there’s a remix from Berlin big shots Jesse Rose & Oliver $) and also a new track from Gothenburg trio The Touch.

The Blänk project with a follow-up to the smashing track “Take Your Shirt Off”. The track “I’m Going For Your Brother” gives us the vocal offerings from Lina (of The Touch fame) + Atlanta rapper Young Ivy. The original is a breathtaking slice of italodisco that reminds us of Sally Shapiro while the Waa!Fi (Andreas from The Touch) remix aims straight for the dancefloor with its bassdriven stomp and Boody B (AKA Haldan from Palms Out) switches it up with more of a soft electrodisco take.

Uniforms for the Dedicated is a fresh, new clothing label originating from Gothenburg, Sweden. They recently released their interesting Spring/Summer 2009 collection (can be found at various boutiques all over the world) entitled “Sound Effects” where the design process has been driven by the emotions of music. The collection also includes a soundtrack which was put together by some of the top new names in Swedish dance music such as: Stockholm based techhouse whiz kid Adrian Lux, Gothenburg electro trio The Touch and Uniforms For The Dedicated in-house producer JayAre.

Robyn has come a long way since being that childhood popstar here in Sweden. Since then she’s pretty much steadily conquered the world. “Cobrastyle” is not exactly a new track but Gothenburg trio The Touch gives it a second chance with their remix. They chop it up and gives it a filthy, bleepy electro feel but manages to balance it all out when they add a housepiano to the mix. The result is a track we’ll be able to dance to all winter.
