Tiedye – Fishermen’s Bend

Anton Klint and Edvin Edvinsson (of Fibes Oh Fibes fame) form Tiedye, a Swedish sundrenched and saltwatersmelling disco duo with influences ranging from Swedish progressive pop music but also boogierock and dreamy 70′s disco. The duo have kept a bit quite during the past year apart from the occasional dj-gigs but now New Jersey label Italians Do It Better just unleash the three track EP “Fishermen’s Bend”. The track is apparently a part of Tiedyes debut album which has been in the making for almost two years. Dan Lissvik (1/2 of Studio) offers up a brilliant remix that’s less boogierock and more shuffling disco.

Tiedye Mix For Wood Wood

Gothenburg balearic production/dj duo Tiedye recently did this sparkling mix for premier Danish streetwear label Wood Wood and their Muzak mix series, this is a perfect companion here at Discobelle HQ this saturday.

“Anton and his buddy Edvin make up Tiedye of Gothenburg, Sweden. When not chilling in the Swedish woods, having fun behind the decks or remixing other people’s songs, they perform as an actual band with live instruments. Their DJ sets often incorporate cosmic, balearic, italo and other weird disco stuff – but with a distinct Nordic sound. Tiedye have previously released music on the labels Rong, DFA and Italians Do It Better.”

Taximix

The awesome Anton Qlint (one half of the Italians Do It Better affiliated Gothenburg based duo Tiedye) just sent over this new mix (that he did for his gig on Friday at the club Tell Your Taxidriver Erste Liga at Erste Liga in Munich) of hard to find Scandinavian disco/prog/pop etc. and also the unreleased Tiedye remix of a track from Swedish group Syket (second song in the mix).

Love The Nite Away

I can’t for the life of me grasp why we didn’t post this back when it dropped. Berliner DJ Kaos links up with excellent Gothenburg duo and Italians Do It Better associates Tiedye for the remix of “Love The Nite Away” and they create the jam of the summer!

Necessary. (Thanks to Alainfinkelkrautrock)

Tiedye

Tiedye was formed during nights of bikemoshing, slowdancing and wierdsailing. Two guys form the heart of this obscure and obvious formation of what we call the band Tiedye. From the rocks and waves of the west coast of Sweden, Tiedye explores and develops the sounds of dreaming disco, windblowing pop and gruyèresmelling rock”.

Tiedye just signed to the Italians Do It Better label and it feels like a good home for the Gothenburg duo with their brand of balearic disco. Their take on the classic Metallica track “Nothing Else Matters” has done the rounds on a few blogs already but is too good to pass up. Music for the summer!
