Azari & III – Still Reckless

Deja vu! Azari & III re-re-re-release “Reckless For Your Love”, now with 200% more kinky elevators, stutter stepping and picturesque frowning.

Guessing that Tiga’s newly released remix of “Reckless” (which is streaming below) means that there’s yet another release involving the ubiquitous single dropping Feb 12th, 2012.

ZZT – ZZAfrika (Marseille Remix)

100 years ago i had a dream: release music I love, with pro graphics, without going bankrupt. 100 12-inches later, Turbo stands high on the rubble of crumbled empires: Mo’Wax, Factory, EMI all dead in our wake…. we will never give up the fight: music we love, dressed for success, format-democratic, NEVER going bankrupt. Climbing to the stars, 300 copies at a time. it’s just us and Jack White, motherfuckers… bring on the next 100. See you in 2017.

Love from Montreal,
Tiga

100 Turbo Recordings releases spread over 13 years. Can you believe it? It’s a huge milestone for an amazingly passionate label, a label whose passion and dedication to the stuff they put out perhaps contributing greatly to the reasons that it’s lasted as long as it has in an otherwise post-apocalyptic music industry.

The 100th package from “renegade dove-child” duo Tiga and Zombie Nation is an eclectic one – Gesaffelstein works his unusually tactful dark techno vibes, Julio Bashmore gives a supriringly touching melodic synth-ballad, and Proxy protegé Marseille brings the raw ghetto insanity of Russia to the people, which will suffice until the Proxy LP is released (hopefully sometime in the next hundred releases).

ZZT – ZZafrika (Marseille Remix)

Also, that pretty image you see above is a 180-gram triple-vinyl box set which includes a code for Turbo Century, a retrospective compilation of the label’s best music from it’s first 100 releases. Here’s to another hundred, Turbo!

The ZZT remixes are available on Beatport.

The XX – Shelter (Tiga remix)

Canadian electro prince Tiga remixes the track “Shelter” from one of our favorite London outfits The XX.

“There’s just something special about making out in London, your mouth bursting with toffee and emotion, that ugly ferris wheel thing looming in the distance…This remix is a love letter to British Romance, from the heart of a Canadian Revolutionary.”

Yard Birds

Boy 8 Bit has been a long time favorite here at Discobelle. Now he’s back with the new “Yard Birds EP” for Turbo Recordings.

“Turbo is proud to announce a great new ep by everyone’s second favourite Cornish redhead, Boy 8-bit. Musically, he fits in very well for a label that keeps it’s feet planted in different worlds; his tracks are ‘big and loud’, but they keep a sense of reserved funk, melody, and playfulness that feels all too rare at the moment. His productions have attracted the support of Diplo, Fake Blood and Annie Mac, and his DJing has earned him the right to take a crack at the latest in Bugged Out’s ‘Suck My Deck’ series. ‘Yard Birds’ is a bomb. Tiga has been playing it at every festival this summer and the crowds have gone wild…”

Black Devil Disco Club/Galaxy Birthday

We got two new cool tracks from Dinosaur EGG in the mail.

First one is the new Galaxy Birthday re-edit by Plaisir de France. A French duet that’s featured on the “Seriously, Eric?” compilation. It has never been released and it will be on the first Plaisir de France album (which will feature artists like Chromeo, Etienne Daho, The Postmarks, Tiga, Blackstrobe etc.). The original video for the track can be found here:.

The other track is taken off the new Black Devil Disco Club re-edit album called “Dub”. Black Devil Disco Club is a french disco master, now aged 64, sampled by the Chemical Brothers, re-issued by Aphex Twin, remixed by Pilooski/Metronomy/Emperor Machine/Tacteel…This track has never been released and his new album is coming out on Lo Rec (June 14th).

Savage Skulls (Endless Summer Mix) (update)

No “Mixin It Up” today but we bring you this big mix from the Swedish producer duo Savage Skulls!

We were very excited and intrigued when we heard that a couple of Swedish producers was releasing an EP on the mighty label Dubsided. Then when we heard that one of the brightest stars on the Swedish hiphop scene Timbuktu was laying down the vocals on the track we were already jumping. The track that’s called “Bumps” turned out great, we play it all the time and Niklas used it in his Rodeo Mix.

Enjoy!

Savage Skulls (Endless Summer Mix) (Sharebee)

BONUS: The brand new booming Savage Skulls remix of the next Miike Snow single “Black & Blue” (to be released October 19th with other remixes from Tiga, Caspa, Andy George & Jaymo and Netsky).
