So Shifty have been the best new thing for me this year. Every remix they put out so far has been spot on. Now they are in the process of releasing their debut EP on Crossfaded Bacon with tracks featuring Ward 21, Natalie Storm, Tifa and Timberlee and with remixes from Emynd, Top Billin, Douster and Them Jeans.

We were glad to see that the homies across the Baltic Sea got into the majors, this remix of the Wale & Lady Gaga track “Chillin” is as good as it gets from Top Billin meaning of course that they churn out an epic version.

The Finnish brethren Top Billin (together with Sharkslayer) bringing the goods on this mix for Finnish clothing label CTRL.

“Raziek is back. And with a vengeance. We got this track from the mysterious Bootleggers & Gangsters and it’s gives “Paper Planes” a d&b twist. It’s the second release from the duo from England and the 12″ is climbing on the Juno Records D&B Chart, support the cause and buy a 12″! (it also includes the track “Shut Em Down”)

Finland is going strong at the moment with artists like Top Billin, Renaissance Man, Femme En Fourrure and Le Corps Mince De Francoise to name a few and here we got the next one. The label describes Zebra & Snake as a mix of: “Joy Division, Prince, David Bowie, Talking Heads and The Knife”. When I saw their new video it made me think of a Finnish version of The Tough Alliance. Let us just let them be Zebra & Snake and enjoy their live bass, modern electric drums, catchy, crazy synth lines and Tapio`s deep hypnotic voice.

Emynd out of Philly is doing it big in Scandinavia these days, first he joined us for the Discobelle x Scion compilation CD and now his track “What About Tomorrow” is featured on the newest EP from the Finnish Top Billin crew. The EP is the third and final episode in the “Tales From Top Billin” saga and on it we find 3 very special tracks from some international friends and another 3 bangers from within their Helsinki crew. The Top Billin crew over in Helsinki keeps on bringing us those stompers and they’re also expanding into various aliases. Sharkslayer (consisting of DJ Pushups and Sir Nenis) is one of them which we’ve been following for a minute. “Skanking Riddim” is their latest effort and it’s a housed up and synthy club affair, a bit similar to the recent tracks from fellow Finns Renaissance Man.
