The Finnish shows us who wears the pants when it comes to club destroyers, Rico Tubbs just released his latest EP “Hip Rave Anthem” on Cheap Thrills and we just got this crucial and bone shattering remix of the track “Boom Riddim” from Top Billin associate Sharkslayer.
Our livers are aching and our feet hurt from 5 days at WMC in Miami and now we’re back in grey, rainy Sweden. So it’s good thing thing we just received this raved up remix from the mighty Top Billin boys of this The Federation fronted Tittsworth track “Drunk As F*ck” (get the EP over at Beatport) to remind of us the good times in the sun.

3229 posts and 15 662 comments later we finally got a record deal. Phew! For a while there we thought no one was going to call.
The guys that did were Scion AV. After releasing a long row of artists, we were selected as the first blog in the series to make our own compilation. It took a Japanese based car brand, working in America, to get Sweden some love. But whatever works because now we’re here.
So we spoke to a few of our favourite artists, and keeping it true to the blog we made sure that half of them were Swedish. Support your local musician and all of that. We tried to make it a good selection that reflected the blog. If you’re reading this, you’ll like the tracks fo sho. After that we asked Micke/PMKFA to help us with the killer cover that you can see above.

Since the success with my MGMT mix, Vice decided that they are going to continue to ask DJs to remix tracks from a certain artist. The second mix is with Bloc Party mixed by our friends in Top Billin. This is what Nenis from Top Billin had to say about the mix:
“We took on making a mix with that punk attitude, keeping the dynamics there so that it wouldn’t be too smooth operator mix, but have that rock feel in it. The tracks in the mix are all related in Bloc Party, influences and tracks that they’ve covered (like Prince) and of course kool tunes that are named block party. Hopefully you’ll dig it.”

Those Finns sure know how to throw parties, always amazing dj’s Sir Nenis (of Top Billin) and DJ Downtown (½ of Renaissance Man & part of the New Judas) are putting together a new club night over in Helsinki that’s called “Hand Clap Low Conga” which will: “…bring you an interesting selection of electronic music from around the world”. They did this mix to promote the new affair and it saved our day here at Discobelle HQ + it made us dance around with giddy smiles on our faces.
