Swedish but Berlin based label Trunkfunk Records are on a roll at the moment, their latest release is the “Bitchfight” EP from British producers Trevor Loveys and Affie Yusuf. The track features Spoek (our favorite South African rapper and all around amazing fella) and this awesome remix from Gothenburg trio The Touch which boasts some tribalistic drums, a little bit of that wobble bass, cowbells and layers of synthy goodness.

With the upcoming release of Bent’s “Best Of” collection album, slated to drop on July 22nd, there will be a string of new remixes to come for some of their classic tracks.

First up is London cosmic disco heads mIGHTY mOUSE and house legend Trevor Loveys remixing the track “Always”. The mIGHTY mOUSE remix was featured in Aeroplanes top 10 in June 2009 and has become a staple in their DJ sets. The Trevor Loveys remix is a nod to the old school with his trademark beats and bassline. The EP package is set for release on August 17th.

Bent will be hitting the newly opened Highbury Garage in London on July 22nd with Totally Enourmous Extinct Dinosaurs and DJ Sister Bliss.

Daniel from German trio Acidkids sent over a nice little e-mail that contained the wobbly bass and anthemic breakdown filled Trevor Loveys remix of their new single “Mad Mahoney” (other remixes from Zongamin, Motor, HiJack and Nhan & Taan) which has already garnered play from some top dj’s.

Tyken is dynamic duo Carl Ryden (producer who is based in London and has worked with David Guetta, Chris Lake, Todd Terry and Kenny Dope to name a few) and Fredrik Nyberg (AKA DJ Nibc who’s been doing it big in Sweden but have now relocated to Berlin).

On their new single “Let It Rain” they get some help from fellow Swede, rapper ADL and also British producer Trevor Loveys who does a fidgety reworking of the track.

We also got a little bonus contest for y’all, we got a package with the beautifully designed single + a t-shirt for 5 lucky winners. Just answer this question: “What label is the single released on?” and send your answers here.

They walk, they lie, they love, they die, they live!

I just got the new single from Evil Nine in the mail and I must say that it’s the best thing I have received in the last weeks or so. The track is a tribute to director John Carpenter’s classic 1988 sci-fi ghoulfest “They Live” and their press release tell us: “Don’t be surprised if “They Live!” does for zombies what Daft Punk did for robots”.

This is the first release from their second album that will be released in September. “They Live! the album” will feature a number of surprising collaborations like El-P, Beans, Autokratz, Toastie, Seraphim and Emily Breeze. I can’t wait to get my hands on this.

“After all, zombies are just like us — just give them a chance!”
