Morgan Hislop is a London-based multimedia artist, designer and music producer/DJ that has worked for a range of clients, including LAD Bible, Topman, EMI Music, Big Dada, Innovative Leisure, Nest HQ, Man Up Girl and had work showcased on Dazed, Clash, Noisey, Dummy and MTV, as well as exhibited internationally.
Following from a number of years playing drums for UK producer Tropics and organising club events, Morgan has broken away with his own electronic solo project in the last couple of years.
Morgan released his debut EP entitled “Smitten” at the end of 2015, followed by a double A-Side single in Spring 2017 on US label DESKPOP. Morgan also is a regular DJ for underground pop label Limited Health, with a fortnightly show on Radar Radio in London and is about to make his Moveltraxx debut with “Pecadilloes & Falsehoods” part of the upcoming “Street Bangers Factory 7” compilation (which is released tomorrow Friday May 19th) alongside club music mainstays Nadus, Big Dope P & TT The Artist.
We here at Discobelle got the hook up for the premiere of the track “Peccadilloes & Falsehoods” which is a synth-infused, sped up vocals, feel good stomper of a club track.
Happy Friday, friends (!), we’ve got a fantastic remix to show all of you today, and trust us, this will be the perfect piece to kick off your weekend. The original version by the talented turntablist turned producer and the equally legendary TT the Artist was a bass heavy party anthem. The remixed version by Gun$ Garcia adds a melody to the entire piece while still keeping the energy of the original alive. Both versions are fantastic for the weekend ahead, and we’ll be playing both, along with the entire remix EP, this entire weekend under the warm sun. These party-ready songs only prove that summer is a stones throw ahead.
The entire EP is out today via iTunes.
DJ Shiftee and TT the Artist together in one song. Oh, wait, did you need me to say more? Okay, the new track is titled “Dope Girls,” and it’s a brilliant combination of TT the Artist’s vivacious attitude and Shiftee’s (not so) silent but deadly cutting, scratching, and magnetic production skills. It feels old school and current at the same time, proving yet again that the underground has created another song with the potential to be a summer hit without it being the right season yet.
