Rewards (ft. Solange Knowles) – Equal Dreams (Eddie Mars remix)

Rewards is the solo project from Chairlift co-founder Aaron Pfenning and “Equal Dreams” (released yesterday) is his new single on DFA. The original is an upbeat percussion laced sensual track. Brooklyn based Eddie Mars from Vietcong Disco fame sticks in a thumping bassline that along with the smooth weaved in vocals from Solange Knowles gives the track an even more dreamlike and deep feeling.

Eddie Mars – Future

The good people over at Vietcong Disco just started a label for limited run 12″ and they put together a stellar release with Eddie Mars, this one is called “Future” but in reality it’s a classic italodisco affair – the kind with a steady, pulsating groove and urging vocals that just makes you dance. Grab the radio edit below, limited download so you better act fast. The beautiful vinyl can be picked up this week, digital version coming in May.

Dragon Slayer

NYC crew Vietcong Disco have been keeping busy this summer with working on new tracks and edits, a new Vietcong DJ mix, a new bigger space for their parties and they’re beginning to put together a live DJ set that will include synthesizers, tape echo, samplers and records. Their latest release is an EP called “Dragon Slayer” and it’s on that DFA/Rong disco/house tip, the title track gives us 6 minutes of blissed out, feel good disco.

Vietcong Disco

It’s cold and flu season here at Discobelle HQ so we need some quality jams to help us get through. Vietcong Disco are rising stars on the NYC dance music scene with connections to DFA, Jacques Renault etc. The four piece outfit is the brain child of producer Eddie Mars and also consists of DJ Robert Redford, Malcolm LaSalle and Charles Damga. They’re bringing us some funky and shimmering disco that echoes of the good old days of early 80′s loft parties.
