Our buddy VinylAddicted, the Greek, disco-maestro and head honcho at Editor’s Kutz, Diggin’ Disco Deep, WYMM and now, his latest project: From Disco To House (or just FDTH)… popped over this lovely little rework from the inaugural release of his new imprint. From the track’s title, it won’t be hard to guess where he drew his inspiration from, however, there is a bit of a curve ball as the sample source is from a rare, unknown cover of the eponymous, McFadden & Whitehead classic. Expect loads of chunky drums, filtered breaks and loopy samples that are sure to tickle your boogie feather!

Available next week on a limited 10″ vinyl.

VinylAddicted may not be a household name at the moment, but in the near future, that is sure to change. The Greek producer and label head has helmed many a successful project with his two, vinyl-only imprints Editor’s Kutz and Diggin’ Disco Deep, plus great releases for the Whiskey Disco and Smokecloud labels and operating his own blog, Just Love Vinyls. Here, the vinyl enthusiast drops a live mix that acts more or less as a primer for his current and forthcoming releases with a multitude of selections from the upcoming Diggin’ Disco Deep #2 as well as current and unreleased music from each of his labels. Smokecloud Records is a dope little label out of Athens, GA that produces high quality, highly collectable vinyl releases of the dance persuasion. Their latest offering is a multi-artist compilation entitled “Smokecloud Blend” and features tunes from Osmose, the label’s founder, Denver’s own disco lord, Falcon Punch, a collab from VinylAddictied & SMQ plus one from Brooklyn new comer, The Silver Rider. This diverse collection of tracks covers a variety of dance floor needs and is the perfect addition to a vinyl DJ’s arsenal.

Dropping in on the A-Side, The Silver Rider’s “Sly & Pat” gets things nice and warm with his low-slung, psychedelic take on a “mighty” disco classic. Hot on it’s heels, Falcon Punch amps up the tempo with a heavy slice of funk with his superb cut, “Move.” Flip it over and we get the thick-as-molases beatdown vibes of Osmose’s “Caught Up” and a rocksteady bless-up of Diana Ross’ classic “Upside Down,” here titled “CC Tribute” and offered by the incomparable team of VinylAddicted + SMQ.

For its first release of 2015, Sleazy McQueen’s sneaky little label out of South Florida, Whiskey Disco, taps a handful of scalpel fiends to assemble this delicious sample platter, aptly titled, ‘Disco Meze EP.’ Featuring contributions from established folks like VinylAddicted, Jean Claude Gavi and Alkalino plus up-and-comers, PIXELATED and The Silver Rider.

Launching this quadruple header is VinylAddicted & Jean Claude Gavri’s ‘NYM’ with its relentless, bumping beats and intergalatic synth solos poised to launch you straight into the an extended, lunar orbit. Brooklyn’s latest mystery duo, PIXELATED follow up with the exceptionally blissful, ‘Caught Up In The Rapture,’ which utilizes the silkiest Anita Baker sample and some 303 inspired acid riffs… ‘rapturous,’ to say the least.

Flip the slab over and Alkalino wastes no time getting busy with ‘Day To Day,’ a soulful declaration of love and devotion that no man can put asunder. Wrapping things up nicely is The Silver Rider’s housed up take on an undisputed classic with ‘Hidden Rung,’ mono-leads and organ stabs aplenty, this mid-tempo stepper is sure to be a useful dance floor weapon.
