Here it is folks, the ultimate installment of the Discobelle Mix! A whopping 100 episodes into our series, we slap a big ol’ bow on it with the help of the one and only, Alan Braxe. Being one of France’s most celebrated producers as well as a third of legendary trio, Stardust, the man needs absolutely no introduction. Here, he’s supplied us with a unique and eclectic mix that blends classic electro with loads of feel good jams and more than a few remixes from the man himself.

Big shout out to all the artists that have contributed and made the Discobelle Mix a special series, we promise to continue the good work and keep this long, strange trip rolling!

Vulture Music stalwart, Xander Milne has been a bit quite on the Western front here for the last couple months… thankfully he’s re-emerged with this lovely, double a-side featuring the vocal talents of Kristy Marie. The pair craft some beautifully written pop tracks that just happen to stand confidently in the realm of quality, crossover club music (think Gorgon City).

‘So True’ is as warm as it is frigid with cascading piano stabs and melodic arpeggios while Marie demonstrates her fantastic range and lamenting lyrics. ‘Stay Heavy’ brings the mood deeper, drenched in a bucket load of swagger and a vibe that would make Crystal Waters’ proud. It’s hypnotic, M1 bassline and 909 snare rolls display the pair’s influences proudly on it’s sleeve… and who could blame them? I’m sure your dancefloor won’t!

London based, Bright Light Bright Light is making waves…. it’s hard not to when Elton John is your number one fan, am I right? While currently on tour with the ‘Rocketman,’ BLBL’s sophomore album is on the way and here, we have the premiere of Alan Braxe’s remix for the lead single, ‘An Open Heart.’

Laying down a bed of perfectly tuned arpeggios and shimmering pads for BLBL’s smooth vocals to float upon, Braxe makes it clear that his recent hiatus hasn’t been spent resting on his laurels.

Discobelle, in association with Alan Braxe and Vulture Music, is proud to present the exclusive series: “Tales From The Hard Disk; The Bonus Beat Collection.” Here’s a personal note from Mr. Braxe himself to give a little info on the series:

Sometimes, it can be difficult to finish that idea you’re working on and so after many attempts (and lots of coffee) it ends up in the old “to do box”, locked away in the bytes of the hard drive or sequencer disk, bound never to see the light of day…

After many years, the reviled “demo box” was getting a bit fat and so I would like to share some of these “unfinished thoughts” with you via our friends at Discobelle. It’s a pleasure to present… ‘THE BONUS BEAT COLLECTION”

Most of the tracks you’ll hear in this collection have been done in 2 or 3 days tops and are not 100% finished. I figured, better to share them with you rather then leave them fragmenting on my antique hard drive!

Yours faithfully,

Alan Braxe

And here’s a little blurb about what you are about to hear:

“Bonus Beat One”

This “morceau” has been sitting around on a SP 1200 floppy disk since at least 2001… who knows how much longer it could have been there! I fired up “old faithful” SP and with all the groaning and grunting of those classic mechanisms, the beast sprung to life and spat this out. A little studio “polish,” a few new band members on the drums and I give you the first in our series for your own personal enjoyment!

Stay tuned …

So, there you have it! A steady stream of unreleased Braxe material for FREE DOWNLOAD from your pals at Vulture Music and Discobelle!!! We <3 U!

A man such as Lifelike needs little or no introduction. From his genre-defining colloboration with Kris Menace, to his work with such labels at Vulture and Work It Baby to remixing The Presets and Chromeo… indeed, little introduction is needed.

Enter the man’s latest single, “Night Patrol,” on his very on label, Computer Science. All the typical hallmarks are there; funky beats, arpeggios, neon chord stabs and deftly disguised samples (just use your Imagination, you’ll find it…)

Take a this exclusive, sneak peak at the mans new work and hold your breath for a set release date of 12/02/13.
