Wale – Road to Attention Deficit mixtape

A great mixtape compilation of Wale’s work up until this point.

“This compilation mixtape includes work from Wales past mixtapes (Paint a Picture, Hate is the New Love, 100 Miles & Running, The Mixtape About Nothing), as well as some live material and rarer freestyles. We set out to call it the “Road” to Attention Deficit (his upcoming Interscope album) because his career has been a journey thus far – so we included live audio from the UK, Australia, California, etc. that captures his journey around the world.”

Wale x 2

Washington rapper Wale recently unleashed two collaboration tracks, in the first one he goes at it with Young Chris and Tre and they give us a horndriven hip hop ditty named “Nightlife”. The second one sees him returning the favour from Young Chris and he joins in with the mighty Bun B for the track “Searching” .

Colin Munroe is the Unsung Hero mixtape

Canadian artist Colin Munroe made a huge splash with his remix of Kanyes “Flashing Lights”. Last week we were fortunate enough to get a preview track off his new mixtape “Colin Munroe is the Unsung Hero” which is now ready to be released in conjunction with OnSmash.

This mixtape offers a glimpse into the world of this young talent whose highly anticipated debut album “Don’t Think Less of Me” drops in early 2009 on Universal Motown. Colin fuses aspects of rock, pop, hip-hop and electronic music, demonstrating his talent as both a musician and a producer. Done in collaboration with Sickamore & The Famous Firm and crafted over a two-month period in Dallas Austin’s Atlanta-based studio, it includes appearances by DC rapper extraordinaire Wale, Mickey Factz, Joell Ortiz, Baltimores own Blaqstarr and Skyzoo.

In support of the mixtape, Colin is playing a few select dates with Atlanta duo Proton and he’s also making a special New York City appearance opening for Wale alongside Kid Cudi and a DJ set by Mark Ronson. Catch him in the following cities:

02/12 Toronto, ON – The Boat (w/ Proton)
03/12 Los Angeles, CA – Viper Room (w/ Proton)
04/12 New York, NY – Studio @ Webster Hall (w/ Proton, Izza Kizza & DJ Blaqstarr)
06/12 Atlanta, GA – Lenny’s (w/ Proton & Spree Wilson)
09/12 New York, NY – Highline Ballroom (w/ Wale, Kid Cudi and Mark Ronson)
12/12 New London, CT – Hanafins Pub w. Flowers & Kain

Updated: Colin Munroe – Will I Stay (ft. Wale & Dallas Austin) (Discobelle exclusive)

Colin Munroe – Will I Stay (remix ft. Wale & Dallas Austin)

Last year Colin Munroe did an amazing unofficial remix, aswell as a video, of Kanye Wests “Flashing Lights”. Kanye himself was impressed and posted the remix on his blog.

Now Colin is back with a new project, a mixtape called “Colin Munroe is the Unsung Hero” that’s soon available on www.unsunghero.tv. The tape is filled with everything from an edit of Bob Dylan’s “Who Killed Davey Moore” to a remake of Q-Tip’s J-Dilla-produced “Fever” and features a bunch of well known hiphoptalents such as Wale, Mickey Factz(talking about MF have you seen this?), Joell Ortiz, Skyzoo and Blaqstarr.

Pick up the original track Will I Stay at iTunes (US only)
