Human Woman – Delusional (video)

The video above is an Discobelle exclusive for Icelandic duo Human Woman who happens to be the latest addition to hfn music. Their debut single “Delusional” was just released and it’s 80′s yet very modern electronic pop at its finest mixed with Nordic gloom for that icy feel. The single also features big remixes from Danish wonder boy Kasper Björke, DJ /producer Vincenzo and Zev who happens to be ½ of Wolf+ Lamb.

Le Loup – Dog & Pony Show 1 Year Anniversary Mix

Léonard Perret, also known as Le Loup is another one of those prodigal talents who started way earlier than you did and probably gets up at the crack of dawn as well and does really productive things. The 21 year old Parisian is a sound engineering student at the Institut Supérieur des Techniciens du Son, and has been producing a steady stream of music for labels such as Get The Curse and Wolf + Lamb.

To celebrate, we’ve got the premiere of a mix full of undiscovered grooving gems from Le Loup. If you’re in NYC on Feb 27th you can catch Le Loup with Alexander Robotnick @ The Dog & Pony. More details to be found here.

Soul Clap – “Lonely C” & Video Contest

Big news from New York house music renaissance purveyors Wolf + Lamb & Soul Clap; they’ll be compiling the newest edition of !K7′s classic DJ Kicks series, to be released March 20th.

What Wolf + Lamb & Soul Clap have to say about the release:

When !K7 approached the four of them to do a DJ Kicks mix, the initial idea was do it as Wolf + Lamb versus Soul Clap. It wasn’t long before they realized something more collaborative was where their heads were at. Eli explains: “So much of the power of the music we do comes from the idea that we’re a collective, even expanding beyond the four of us to acts like No Regular Play and Nicholas Jaar that come under the Wolf + Lamb label umbrella. Performing together is our strength.” Gadi continues: “Yeah, the concept for this mix was originally that going to be to use our favourite tracks from the last two years —y’know, classic stuff — but then we thought it might be a stronger idea to do something that was about our world. We have such a strong sense of collective about the way we do things at the Marcy Hotel and on the Wolf + Lamb label. It’s very loose and we bring all our artists together and we kind of play it by ear and the vibe is very chilled out and deep. We figured if we could bring that to a mix and keep it in the family, with people who’ve released on the label we would have something special.”

Wolf + Lamb – Live at Rescue Beats, Panama City

Thought by many to be responsible for the resurgence of “grown ass folk dance music”, New York label Wolf + Lamb (formed by Gadi Mizrah and Zev Eisenberg) has been responsible for releasing an abundance of heated, sleazy but sophisticated house jams over the past years. In the words of the label: “Since then, it has grown to include three record labels, well over 100 community dances — and counting, a clothing line, a legendary 6 star hotel and club, and, their new line of organic pet food: Woof & Lamme.”

Thanks to the folks at Red Bull Music Academy Radio we’ve got Wolf + Lamb’s performance at the Panama Jazz Festival in Casco Viejo, including an exclusive second hour that you’ll only find here. Turn it up and get lost in the vibes.

20 year old NYC producer and Wolf + Lamb signing Nicolas Jaar just released an EP of smooth and sexy house edits of pop tracks. The “6 Edits EP” was released in conjunction with Resident Advisor and on it Mr Jaar takes on among others Nina Simone, Grateful Dead and New Order etc. and you better believe that this is seriously great stuff.
